Day Three of 141st Graduation: 829 UIN Jakarta Alumni Urged to Make a Positive Impact on Society
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online - A total of 829 graduates from three faculties of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta were officially inaugurated on the third day of the Open Senate Session for the 141st Graduation Ceremony of Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral Programs for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, Saturday (12/09/2026), at the Harun Nasution Auditorium. Carrying the theme “Strengthening Innovative Graduates with Integrity and Impact on Humanity,” the graduation ceremony highlighted the graduates' readiness to face challenges and deliver meaningful benefits to society.
The 829 graduates consisted of 449 graduates from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM), 263 graduates from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and 117 graduates from the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi). The ceremony was led by Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., alongside Chair of the Senate Prof. Andi Faisal Bakti, M.A., Ph.D., and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.A., M.H. Also present were university and faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, as well as parents and guardians of the graduates.
In his remarks, Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar considered the graduation theme relevant to the challenges graduates will face. He advised graduates not to dwell on regret over their choices or educational backgrounds, but to continuously strive to give their best and face future challenges with optimism.
“Do not complain or lament about what is within yourselves. You must navigate every portion of life by doing your best. Moments of lamentation must be eliminated, and complaining must be left behind. Let bygones be bygones. We should face the next challenges. That is what you must hold onto,” stated Prof. Asep.
Prof. Asep also reminded graduates that diplomas and GPAs are not the only assets for navigating post-graduation life. Graduates need to continuously hone their abilities, innovate, and bring forth solutions that offer ease and uniqueness to society.
“So, what is meant by innovative? Provide ease and uniqueness for others,” he stressed.
This advice resonated with the message from UIN Jakarta alumni representative, Dr. Saleh Partaonan Daulay, M.Ag., M.Hum., M.A., who reminded graduates to carry faith and piety in advancing their knowledge. According to him, scientific knowledge must be continuously developed so that it remains relevant and brings value to oneself, family, community, nation, and state.
“Become figures who step into society and make an impact. In what way? Through creative and innovative ways. Seek new findings, discover new programs that are creative and innovative, which can directly bring tangible benefits to the people of Indonesia,” he said.
Meanwhile, Azra Hilya Izzati from the Faculty of Psychology, speaking as the graduate with the best social science thesis, emphasized that innovation, integrity, and usefulness form an inseparable whole. She urged graduates to apply their knowledge with honesty and responsibility so that their achievements do not end as mere personal accomplishments.
“Becoming an innovative graduate with integrity and impact on humanity is not a set of standalone qualities. Innovation requires integrity so as not to lose direction. Integrity requires courage so as not to cease being a principle. And both must culminate in usefulness so that the knowledge we possess creates an impact for humanity,” she expressed.
The ceremony proceeded with the reading of UIN Jakarta Rector's Decree Number 516 of 2026 regarding the Best Graduates and Best Thesis Authors for the 141st Graduation. The best graduates from FDIKOM were Al-Kahfi from the Master of Da'wah Management program with a GPA of 3.93 and Gendis Nastiti from Social Work with a GPA of 3.96. From FPsi, Aulia Oktavia Nurhayat from the Psychology Study Program achieved a GPA of 3.96. Meanwhile from FST, Muhammad Rashid Ridho from the Master of Agribusiness program achieved a GPA of 3.79 and Nuni Indah Sulistiani from Informatics Engineering earned a GPA of 3.94.
The graduation proceedings also included the reading of the Decree, inauguration of graduates by the Rector, speeches from graduate and alumni representatives, and the reading of the Graduate Pledge (Prasetya Sarjana) by Al Kahfi from FDIKOM. The event also featured holy Qur'an recitation by Muhammad Hanif Nur Rahman, Sign Language Qur'an recitation by Faisal Amri Manurung, prayer by Zakaria, M.Ag., as well as a performance by Princess Afero from FISIP during the interlude.
Through this inauguration, the 829 UIN Jakarta graduates not only marked the conclusion of their formal education, but also entered a new chapter of continuous learning, innovation, upholding integrity, and responsibly applying their knowledge. The underlying message reaffirmed that graduates' true success is ultimately measured by how effectively their knowledge and capabilities serve society.
