COVID-19: UIN Jakarta moving to online classes
Rectorate, UIN News Online – To limit the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring the continuity of teaching activities, UIN Jakarta will moving to online classes or home assignments. Based on the Rector’s circular letter number B.885/R/HK.00.7/3/2020, the online (e-class) will be starting on Monday, (03/16/2020) until Sunday (03/29/2020).
“We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will continue to adopt measures that enable us to protect the entire academic community of UIN Jakarta,” said the letter.
In addition to the online class, the Rector also asked all academic community to postpone mass gatherings activity such as graduation ceremony, public lecture, seminars, and work meetings. The community service (KKN) preparation will also be rescheduled.
The Rector also added that all academic community of UIN Jakarta to limit direct physical contact, such as shaking hands and reminding colleagues to use masks when they are in an unhealthy condition. Meanwhile, for those who experience symptoms similar to COVID-19, it is required to immediately conduct a personal examination to a health care facility to minimize the potential spread of the Covid-19.
Furthermore, Rector also encouraged the leadership of faculty and institutions to provide hand washing facilities with soap and hand sanitizers that are in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards in their respective work areas.
For information, the COVID-19 symptoms can include fever, cough and difficulty breathing, very similar to a cold or flu. Some people can develop a more severe illness. (usa)
