Corporate Restructuring: UIN Jakarta Absorbs Private High Schools into State Asset Portfolio Under Public Service Unit Model
Diorama Room, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially completed the institutional transition of Triguna Utama Senior High and Vocational Schools (SMA/SMK Triguna Utama) into its central Public Service Unit (BLU) corporate portfolio. The structural shift was formalized during the Inauguration and Strategic Orientation for Faculty and Administrative Staff, convened at the Diorama Auditorium within the Harun Nasution building on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The executive assembly was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D., alongside the entire vice-rectorial board, the Head of the General Administration Bureau, Dr. Nanang Fatchurochman, and the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK), Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, Ph.D.
Following the administration of the official oath, Rector Asep Saepudin Jahar declared that the corporate operational model of the schools has been fundamentally re-engineered to comply with federal Public Service Unit (BLU) accountability laws.
"The defining operational shift is that the faculty and staff are no longer managed by a private foundation. You are now strictly monitored by the university-appointed director and the school's corporate board. The foundation now functions merely as a formal legal shell," the Rector asserted.
This administrative boundary clarifies that the private foundation is legally barred from interfering in daily operations, structural policymaking, or the appointment of school principals. The transformation was executed to fulfill federal mandates following an official audit by the State Audit Board (BPK), which demanded the absolute consolidation of state-owned properties. Under the new legal framework, the University Rector acts as the ex officio Chairman of the Board of Trustees, while the Dean of FITK assumes the role of Chairman of the Management Board.
During an executive interview, the Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, clarified that UIN Jakarta is legally bound to monitor, upgrade, and leverage university resources to maximize the schools' performance.
"UIN Jakarta will now actively inject its resources to modernize the curriculum and student development. We are formulating a strategic blueprint to integrate our 18 specialized academic departments to upgrade the educational quality at SMA and SMK Triguna Utama. Furthermore, on the financial front, since internal lease expenses have been legally eliminated under the state-asset model, UIN Jakarta will redirect capital to expand infrastructure and upgrade employee welfare," Prof. Subchi explained.
He concluded by announcing targeted salary increases for teachers and administrative support staff, aiming to optimize workforce motivation, drive workplace retention, and accelerate the institutional work ethox across the Triguna Utama ecosystem.
Through this structural consolidation, the executive board of UIN Jakarta guarantees continuous institutional backing, systematic quality upgrades, and rigorous administrative compliance to secure the long-term socioeconomic viability of the schools.
