Closing Pre-Leadership Meeting 2026, Rector Emphasizes Professionalism and Development of a Global Research Ecosystem
ADIA Convention Center, Ciputat, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially closed the 2026 Pre-Leadership Meeting (Pre-LM) with a strong emphasis on strengthening institutional professionalism and building a globally competitive research ecosystem.
The closing session took place at the ADIA Convention Center on Tuesday (03/02/2026), marking the end of a series of strategic discussions involving university leaders, including the Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Directors of Graduate School, Heads of Bureaus, Heads of Institutions, Center Directors, and unit leaders across UIN Jakarta.
In his closing remarks, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that UIN Jakarta’s transformation toward a more autonomous and globally competitive university requires strong professional standards across all levels of management.
He highlighted that professionalism is not only limited to administrative compliance but must also be reflected in leadership quality, resource management, and the performance of academic and non-academic units.
The Rector further stressed the importance of developing an integrated and sustainable research ecosystem that connects academics, institutions, and international partners.
According to him, UIN Jakarta must strengthen its research capacity by encouraging collaborative research, expanding international publications, and enhancing the impact of scholarly output on society.
He also underlined that research development should not be isolated within academic circles but must contribute directly to solving real societal challenges at national and global levels.
The closing of the Pre-Leadership Meeting also reaffirmed UIN Jakarta’s long-term agenda of becoming a World-Class Islamic University through continuous institutional reform, digital transformation, and global engagement.
The recommendations produced during the six thematic commissions of the Pre-LM are expected to serve as a foundation for the university’s 2026 strategic roadmap and the upcoming Leadership Work Meeting (Rakerpim).
With the conclusion of the 2026 Pre-Leadership Meeting, UIN Jakarta reiterated its commitment to strengthening governance, enhancing professionalism, and expanding its global research collaboration network as part of its broader institutional transformation agenda.
