Charting a Path Forward: UIN Jakarta's Seminar Outlines National Mining Strategies for 2025
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta hosted a National Mining Seminar organized by the Department of Mining Engineering within the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), carrying the theme “Global Economic Challenges and Geopolitical Uncertainty.”
The seminar featured five distinguished speakers: Director General of Mineral Resources Dr. Ing. Tri Winarno, S.T., M.T.; Executive Director of the Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) Dr. Hendra Sinadia, S.H., M.B.A.; Chairman of the Indonesian Mining Institute (IMI); Managing Director of Minevesting Group Umar Rivaldy, B.Eng., MM, CP(SNI)., MAusIMM.; and Human Resources Director of PT Antam Ratih Dewihandjani, S.H., S.E., LL.M.
Dr. Ir. Agus S. Djamil, M.Sc., began the discussion with the main topic, “Direction of the National Mining Industry: Responding to Global Economic Challenges and Geopolitical Uncertainty.”
Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., delivered a welcoming address in which he announced that the Mining Engineering Students’ Association (VARVA) would transform this seminar into an international competition platform.
“In the future, VARBA will begin its journey in national or even international competition. As for UIN Jakarta, we can send our mining engineering students who are trained with a modern curriculum to become the best geologists," he conveyed.
Dean of FST Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., praised the extraordinary effort undertaken by the Mining Engineering Students’ Association in preparing the National Mining Seminar.
"This seminar is an opportunity for students to collaborate and integrate with industry, paving the way for future careers in the sector," he said.
The successful execution of the seminar demonstrates that students from the Mining Engineering Program focus on technical knowledge and actively seek ways to develop their skills, interests, talents, and professional networks.
