Character Strengths, Silaturahmi, and Multicultural Awareness can be Served as Capital in Dealing With Post-college Life.

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta graduates are asked to maintain three things, namely character strength, silaturahmi, and multicultural awareness. The three of them can be served as main capital in dealing with face post-college life.

This was said by the Head of University Senate of UIN Jakarta Abuddin Nata in his speech at the 124th graduation ceremony of UIN Jakarta, held at Main Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta on Saturday, (06/04/2022).

The first thing, he said, was the importance of building a strong character in oneself which includes noble character, manners, and positive behavior that need to be maintained by graduates.

“This is in accordance with the main mission of the Koran and Muhammad's apostolate. As the younger generation, it is obligatory (for graduates, ed.) to continue this mission,” he said.

The next thing is maintaining silaturahmi. According to him, silaturahmi is an important part of noble character that is needed today which includes connectedness, togetherness, and relationships with others.

Finally, the Professor of Education at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) UIN Jakarta advised graduates to have multicultural awareness in the midst of the socio-cultural diversity.

On the same occasion, Abuddin also congratulate the graduates for their achievements in completing their respective educations.

“Congratulations, after so many years of ups and downs in your education, you have finally succeeded in achieving the expected goals as the main capital to achieve other goals. Hopefully the knowledge that you have achieved will be useful for yourself, your family, society, country, and even for the world, ” he said. (zm/usa)
