Celebrating 69th Anniversary, UIN Jakarta Successfully Holds UIN Green Walk 2026 at Ragunan
Ragunan Zoo, UIN News Online – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held the UIN Green Walk 2026 to commemorate its 69th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) in the Ragunan Zoo area, South Jakarta, on Saturday (26/09/2026). This event was successfully executed through a collaboration between UIN Jakarta and the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Jakarta as the organizing committee, with support from PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) as the main sponsor.
Carrying the theme "One Step, One Togetherness, One Spirit for UIN Jakarta," the UIN Green Walk 2026 was attended by approximately 1,000 participants consisting of university leadership, faculty deans, lecturers, administrative staff, alumni, and student organizations.
The UIN Green Walk 2026 event was attended by the executive leadership of UIN Jakarta, including the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A.; Vice Rector for General Administration Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A.; Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D.; Chairman of the University Senate Prof. Dr. Andi Faisal Bakti, M.A.; Acting Head of the Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (AAKK) Rahmawati, S.Psi., M.M.; Head of the Green Campus Development Center Prof. Dr. Hendrawati, M.Si.; and deans from various faculties.
Also in attendance were prominent alumni leaders, including the Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, Nuzran Joher, S.Ag., M.Si., and the Secretary General of the Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Dr. Amirsyah Tambunan, M.A.
The Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., who attended the event in person, expressed his appreciation for UIN Jakarta's various breakthroughs. In his remarks, the Minister urged all UIN Jakarta alumni who currently hold strategic positions in various state institutions to consistently make tangible contributions to their alma mater. Additionally, the Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining physical fitness as an implementation of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
"Anyone who considers themselves an alumnus of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta must create a positive impact on their alma mater. Through this Green Walk event, we are trying to recreate a fresh spiritual atmosphere and rationality. What we are doing today also follows the example of Prophet Muhammad SAW, who always maintained physical health and fitness," he asserted.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., outlined UIN Jakarta's significant achievements in environmental management and the Green Campus initiative. The Rector revealed that UIN Jakarta currently ranks second among State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) and has successfully broken into the top 80s globally.
"Our achievement in the context of green initiatives has, alhamdulillah, soared. We are now ranked second among PTKIN and even stand in the 80s globally. This is the fruit of exceptional collaboration among all of us," stated the Rector.
He also invited the entire academic community of UIN Jakarta to continue fostering a sense of belonging and love for the institution. "Wishing you health, happiness, and prosperity. Once again, thank you, and never tire of loving UIN. This is our home, our place, and our shared life with UIN," he added.
Covering a 5 km fun walk route stretching from the North Gate to the West Gate, participants enjoyed the lush greenery of Ragunan's tree-lined avenues, received souvenirs in the form of polo shirts and bags, and had the opportunity to win attractive door prizes.
The entire series of events proceeded smoothly and with great enthusiasm up to the finish line. The collaboration among UIN Jakarta, FK UIN Jakarta, and BSI in the UIN Green Walk 2026 is expected not only to strengthen ties within the academic community, but also to continually reinforce the campus's commitment toward a sustainable Green Campus.
