Cbairman of University Senate Reminds all Professor to Maximize Their Academic Roles

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Chairman of University Senate of UIN Jakarta Abuddin Nata reminded all professors to maximize their respective academic roles and community service. This is the responsibility of professors for educational institutions, society, and the state.

This was said by Abudin Nata in his speech at at the UIN Jakarta Professor Inauguration event, Wednesday (05/11/2022) held at Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta. Professors, said Abudin, are expected to publish articles published in reputable journals or write quality reference books.

Furthermore, the professors are expected to respond to the public perceptions and expectations who view the professor as a knowledgeable figure and become a reference. The community also views that every policy taken by a professor contains wisdom, tadzkiroh, ibroh, and mauidhoh.

“Professors must answer their perceptions, appreciations, and expectations by continuing to produce innovative ideas and thoughts that are useful for society, the country and the nation,” he said.

Another thing that professors need to pay attention to, he continued, is to expand their roles and functions by producing various innovative works.

“So that professors can carry out prophetic functions, by giving grace to the whole world as these functions have been carried out by professors of UIN Jakarta who have national and international reputations,” said Abuddin.

In this event, UIN Jakarta inaugurated two new professors, they are Jajang Jahron and Ratna Sari Dewi. Jajang was inaugurated as Professor of History of Islamic Civilization at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), while Ratna Sari Dewi was inaugurated as Professor of English Education at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK).
