Breaking Physical Limits and Leadership Growth: The Inspiring Journey of Lola Audina
Jakarta, UIN News Online — Lola Audina, a student of the Management of Da’wah Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, continues to inspire through her remarkable journey of resilience, discipline, and leadership development both inside and outside the campus environment.
Her story reflects how academic life and athletic dedication can merge into a powerful narrative of personal growth, particularly through her involvement in pencak silat, a traditional Indonesian martial art that has shaped her character and leadership values.
Lola currently serves as the Head of the Tapak Suci Student Activity Unit (UKM) for the 2026–2027 term, marking an important milestone in her leadership journey within the university’s student organization ecosystem.
Overcoming Physical Challenges Through Discipline
Lola’s path to achievement has not been without obstacles. She has lived with asthma since childhood, a condition that initially raised concerns regarding her participation in intensive physical training and competitive sports.
Despite these limitations, she chose to pursue pencak silat with strong determination. Over time, consistent training and mental resilience enabled her to transform her physical challenges into motivation for continuous improvement.
A setback during the O2SN competition, where she placed third and failed to advance further, became a turning point in her personal development. Rather than discouraging her, the experience strengthened her confidence and commitment to growth.
Achievements in National Pencak Silat Competitions
Through perseverance and discipline, Lola has achieved a series of national-level accomplishments in pencak silat, including:
- 2nd Place in National Pencak Silat Championship (JKTC-13)
- 2nd Place in Virtual National Pencak Silat TGR Competition (2021)
- 2nd Place in Banten International Championship III (2023)
- 1st Place in Satria Bumi Pamungkas Open Championship (2025)
These achievements highlight her consistent progress and dedication in mastering both technical skill and mental strength.
Leadership and Personal Philosophy
As Head of UKM Tapak Suci, Lola emphasizes that martial arts are not merely about physical competition but also about character building, emotional control, and self-discipline.
She encourages students to focus on personal progress rather than comparison with others, highlighting that consistent effort is more important than instant success.
Her leadership approach reflects a broader educational value within student organizations at UIN Jakarta, where extracurricular activities serve as platforms for shaping character, resilience, and leadership capacity.
A Message of Persistence and Growth
Lola’s journey illustrates how limitations can become catalysts for achievement when met with discipline and perseverance. Her story stands as an inspiration for students facing personal or academic challenges, showing that success is built through process, resilience, and self-awareness.
Through her academic and organizational journey, Lola Audina continues to represent the spirit of student leadership development at UIN Jakarta, combining intellectual growth with strong moral and physical discipline.
