Boosting Professionalism: UIN Jakarta Holds Pedagogical Competency Training for New Lecturers
Rectorate Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through its Learning and Curriculum Development Center (Pusat Pembelajaran dan Pengembangan Kurikulum) under the LPM (Quality Assurance Institute), is conducting a Pedagogical Competency Enhancement Training for lecturers who are Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). This initiative aims to strengthen their pedagogical understanding and capacity in managing learning.
Carrying the theme "Building Professionalism and Pedagogical Capacity for Novice Lecturers," the two-day event is being held on Tuesday-Wednesday, July 8-9, 2025, at Syahida Inn Hotel, UIN Jakarta Campus 2. The training is attended by dozens of new lecturers holding CPNS and PPPK status.
"Lecturers must appear professional and be ready to guide students with full integrity. In addition, lecturers must also be inspiring educators and always keep up with the times, including in the utilization of technology and artificial intelligence. Dedicate your lives to producing a generation that is dedicated, has character, and is knowledgeable,"
This was the message delivered by UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who also officially opened the training activity for new lecturers.
Prof. Asep hopes that UIN Jakarta lecturers can carry out their duties with full responsibility and professionalism. "I hope UIN Jakarta lecturers become educators who always guide students with full responsibility," he added.
Head of UIN Jakarta's Quality Assurance Institute, Prof. Dr. Khamami Zada, S.H., M.A., M.Dc., stated in his remarks that enhancing lecturer quality depends not only on mastering academic material but also on non-academic abilities such as communication, classroom management, and adaptation to learning technology.
"Lecturers must be trained to possess not only academic but also non-academic abilities so they can perform their duties optimally," he said.
Furthermore, Prof. Khamami emphasized the importance of a collaborative spirit and shared commitment in lecturers' self-development. This training not only provides new insights but also builds networks among novice lecturers, thereby strengthening synergy in implementing the tri dharma of higher education.
"This training is just the first step. Let's continue to learn and innovate for the sake of achieving higher quality education," he concluded.
On the first day, participants received three material sessions. The first session covered "Effective Strategies for Guiding Students" delivered by Prof. Bambang Suryadi, Ph.D. The second session discussed "The Use of AI and E-learning in Learning" by Dr. Ake Wihadanto, S.E., M.T. Meanwhile, the third session covered "Leveraging Microsoft Office 365 in Learning: Strategies, Features, and Practices" by Devi Widiyata Utama.
On the second day, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, participants will delve into topics surrounding Learning Process Planning, Active Learning Strategies, and Learning Process Evaluation. These three topics will be presented by Prof. Dr. Rais Hidayat, M.Pd., and Dr. Phil. Leli Kurniawati, M. Mus.
