Billions of Rupiah Have Been Funded, STF UIN Jakarta Scholarship Aids Financial Support for Hundreds of Students in Need

Jakarta, UIN Online News - UIN Jakarta offers a scholarship program, namely STF UIN Jakarta, to facilitate educational aid.  The Social Trust Fund (STF) at UIN Jakarta is a humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting students encountering difficulties related to completing the Single Tuition Fee (UKT).  The STF scholarship is one of the prevalent scholarships at UIN Jakarta, providing financial support to students in need since the institution's establishment.

The Secretary of STF UIN Jakarta, Sri Hidayati BRE, M.Ed, said that the establishment of STF is driven by the significant number of students needing financial assistance.  "In response to the increasing number of students seeking tuition fee reductions in higher education, we established this institution to assist students in covering it," she said.

This award was originally designated only for students studying in religious studies programs, since most of them are from lower-middle income. Following economic losses experienced by many students' parents due to COVID-19, STF ultimately extended this scholarship option to all programs at UIN Jakarta. The STF funding gives financial support for tuition fees and provides training to enhance the beneficiaries' career talents, along with volunteer opportunities designed to encourage them to contribute for the community.

The quantity of candidates for the STF scholarship continues in demonstrating significant growth. In 2015, the application quantity was about 200 people. However, during the COVID-19 epidemic, it exceeded 1000 participants. This situation is expected to remain in correlation with the rising need for educational support among students.  "Certainly, STF expects that this scholarship program will continue in its development and provide assistance to students in need," said the Executive Director of STF, Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D.

The rise in the quantity of STF scholarship recipients is also affected by the received donation funds.  "We anticipate that the number of STF scholarship beneficiaries will continue to rise compared to last year. However, we shall first monitor the progression of donations from the contributors," said the STF Secretary, who also serves as the STF scholarship organizer,"

UIN Online news monitoring reports that STF has just concluded the interview process for selecting scholarship beneficiaries for the year 2025. The interviewers are lecturers currently volunteering at STF UIN Jakarta.  The scholarship selection method comprises: document evaluation, interview session for candidates who have cleared the document assessment. The announcement of scholarship beneficiaries will thereafter be published on the official STF UIN Jakarta website at https://www.stfuinjakarta.org/

Since its establishment in 2012, STF UIN Jakarta, a non-structural institution, has always adhered to the core principles of non-profit, transparency, and accountability. This institution has four primary program pillars: Charity, Advocacy, Research, and Endowment, which are the core of STF's operations.

According to a data from UIN Online, from 2020 to 2024, STF has supported 438 students with a total funding of IDR 1,335,162,410.

STF is dedicated to benefiting UIN Jakarta students via this scholarship, particularly in addressing financial difficulties and preparing them for future success.
