Bazaar, Health Checkup, and Traditional Competitions: UIN Jakarta and Diktis Kemenag RI Celebrate 80th Independence Day
Student Center, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in conjunction with the Islamic Religious Higher Education (PTKI) of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), commemorated Indonesia's Independence Day by organizing the Independence Festival at the UIN Jakarta Student Center field on Sunday (August 17, 2025).
Present at the event were the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi S.Ag., SH, MH, MA; the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D.; the Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, MA; and their respective staff members.
Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, M.A. claimed that UIN Jakarta is among the highest PTKIs with remarkable growth, backed up by UIN Jakarta's exceptional capacity to progress and deliver extensive advantages to society through the advancement of knowledge.
"We anticipate that UIN Jakarta will persist in augmenting its contributions and that collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and other ministries will continue to evolve for further advancement in the educational field," he remarked.
The Independence Festival commences with a sequence of events had started since Friday (August 15, 2025), commencing with Senam Merdeka, Dialog Nasional, Pancacinta, and Aksi Bersih-Bersih Rumah Ibadah.
After the flag-raising ceremony and the awarding of the Satyalancana Karya Satya, an array of vibrant events was then held, including artistic, cultural, and creative competitions, bazaars, and health checkup.
The Independence Festival will begin with the Grand Nite of Harmony—the peak event—as a public celebration of Indonesian Independence that is open to all UIN Jakarta and Islamic Religious Higher Education institutions.
Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Rector of UIN Jakarta, graciously embraced the partnership with PTKI.
"We are honored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding yesterday's agenda, and we will take it from here," he elucidated.
