At PBAK 2026, Content Creator Lecturer Musfiah Saidah Highlights Wise Social Media Engagement
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – The second day of the 2026 Academic and Student Culture Orientation (PBAK) series at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially concluded with an interactive talk show session. Carrying the theme “Smart Media Usage, Wise Self-Branding: Personal Branding for the Ulul Albab Generation,” this interactive session captured the attention of thousands of new students from various faculties at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Thursday (27/08/2026).
Present as the main keynote speaker was Musfiah Saidah, S.Sos., M.Si., a lecturer at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM) UIN Jakarta. In addition to active teaching, Musfiah is widely recognized as a digital content creator who currently commands over 195.3 thousand followers on the TikTok platform. In her presentation, she shared practical perspectives on how students can leverage social media positively without compromising their academic identity.
Musfiah explained that building personal branding in the digital era does not always require complicated ideas or exaggerated packaging. According to her, authenticity and mindfulness toward daily habits are the true key elements in attracting an audience's attention in the digital public sphere.
“Sometimes, simple ideas that are often taken for granted can actually be crafted into personal branding strengths if packaged consistently and honestly,” stated the lecturer from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences before thousands of PBAK 2026 participants.
Furthermore, she provided concrete guidance for new students possessing a strong interest in content creation. She highlighted the current social media industry landscape, which is predominantly driven by entertainment trends. Although entertainment content is proven effective in boosting engagement and audience reach, Musfiah underscored the importance of maintaining a balanced core value in every post.
“A student of UIN Jakarta must be capable of presenting differentiation by incorporating informative, educational value, and uplifting Islamic principles. Thus, social media serves not only as a medium for personal expression, but also as a platform for disseminating knowledge and ideas that deliver a positive impact on broader society,” she explained.
Amidst participant enthusiasm, Musfiah also conveyed firm warnings regarding digital security and academic ethics. She reminded them that presence in cyberspace carries significant moral responsibility, particularly regarding personal data protection and institutional reputation.
“Keep up the enthusiasm throughout the PBAK 2026 series. In this digital era, always protect your privacy and exercise caution when uploading or sharing any content. Do not forget to continuously respect the lecturers who teach you, as studying at UIN Jakarta is not merely an ordinary learning process, but a place to prepare your future professionally and morally,” she expressed.
Closing her presentation, Musfiah offered critical notes regarding the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in higher education. She urged all incoming students to utilize AI wisely as a learning support tool, rather than a replacement for critical thinking.
“Keep creating, enhance your creativity, and make use of available technologies. However, for AI users, remain cautious. Do not allow technological convenience to erode and dismantle your critical reasoning as students,” Musfiah concluded, met by enthusiastic applause from the participants.
The final segment of the talk show concluded with an interactive Q&A session between the speaker and incoming students, before the entire second-day schedule of PBAK 2026 was officially brought to a close by the organizing committee.
