Asset Protection: UIN Jakarta Enforces Anti-Corruption Mandates to Reclaim State-Owned Properties from Private Foundation

JAKARTA, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially completed the legal and structural consolidation of Ketilang Kindergarten (TK Ketilang) into the university's centralized state asset grid. The historic enforcement was finalized following the statutory swearing-in and executive orientation of 20 faculty members, administrators, and operational personnel at the UIN Jakarta Auditorium complex on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Chief Legal Counsel for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Alwanih, M.H., CPM., delivered a decisive executive brief confirming that the legitimate corporate governance of the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation now rests on absolute statutory foundations. Consequently, the comprehensive integration of the early childhood education unit directly executes the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs (KMA) Number 1543 of 2025, serving as a primary operation to secure state-owned properties (Barang Milik Negara / BMN).

Under the current legal framework, the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees is held ex officio by the University Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D. Concurrently, the Chairman of the Management Board is occupied ex officio by the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK), Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, Ph.D.

"The legality of the foundation’s management matrix is absolute and verified under federal law. Any outside factions or private individuals claiming administrative authority, acting as board members, or attempting to issue corporate policies outside these statutory ex officio designations possess zero legal standing and zero institutional legitimacy," Alwanih stated firmly.

As a high-performing Public Service Unit (BLU) operating under the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI, UIN Jakarta is legally mandated to enforce good corporate governance. This includes safeguarding state-owned real estate portfolios and executing federal school integration acts.

Alwanih detailed that the 1,000-square-meter prime land tract along with the multiple educational buildings utilized by the kindergarten are registered state properties. Therefore, the total absorption of the school's institutional assets, financial accounts, and human resource structures constitutes a mandatory statutory obligation that the university must enforce.

"The asset seizure and institutional integration executed by UIN Jakarta on July 9, 2026, represents a direct enforcement of the university's legal obligation to secure state infrastructure from unauthorized private exploitation. The entire integration process was cleared smoothly, under strict order, without causing any disruption to daily early childhood teaching schedules or the ongoing new student enrollment cycle," he explained.

Addressing the severe mismanagement and financial anomalies engineered by the previous private administration, Alwanih revealed that UIN Jakarta has initiated aggressive multi-tiered criminal litigation.

Official criminal police reports have been formally lodged with the South Tangerang Metropolitan Regional Police, the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya), and the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri). Furthermore, a major state investigation probing alleged corruption, asset misappropriation, and white-collar financial crimes within the previous foundation's management is currently being actively prosecuted by the Banten High Prosecutor's Office (Kejaksaan Tinggi Banten).

"UIN Jakarta maintains absolute respect for the rule of law and the prevailing judicial dispute resolution mechanisms. We explicitly demand all external parties to respect the ongoing criminal prosecutions and collaborate to safeguard the educational continuity of the students," Alwanih asserted.

Following the successful execution of this asset recovery operation, the university's legal department remains highly optimistic that the educational services will experience rapid qualitative expansion, backed by secure state funding grids and integrated into the broader UIN Jakarta corporate family.
