APBN is designed to create sustainable economic growth

Bintaro, UIN News Online – The state budget (APBN) is a product of the government that can be used to reach a prosperous society. Therefore, the APBN is designed to create inclusive and sustainable economic growth in order to eradicate poverty, reduce inequality, and to increase national productivity and competitiveness.

This was conveyed by the junior economist from the economics and business faculty of UIN Jakarta Indo Yama Nasarudin during Focus Group Discussion (FGD) program at Santika Hotel, Bintaro, South Tangerang on Thursday (04/04/2019). The event, which was organized by UIN Jakarta and the Research Institute of MPR RI was attended by Sharia economic experts as well as a number of politicians. Also present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, the head of Research Institute of MPR RI Rully Chairul Azwar, Former Minister of Finance Fuad Bawazier, and Dean of Sharia and Law Faculty Ahmad Tholabi Karlie.

“However, the APBN is not a stand-alone policy tool, but also influenced by other factors,” he said.

Along with structural reforms in the organizational field, Indo Yama explained, human resources and taxation and custom business process are also expected to increase the state revenues. Events the non-tax (PNBP) revenue is also expected to increase, especially from the ministry/institution service, oil and gas lifting, as well as the profits from state-owned enterprises (BUMN). While In the area of budget financing, the policy will be performed optimally by using the full role of the state.

Indo Yama further explained, the state budget is a form of national compromise between the state represented by the government and the citizen represented by the DPR. One source of these costs comes from taxes paid by the citizen.

“By paying taxes, the people have fulfilled their obligations as citizens,” he said.

Therefore, he said, the government should properly protect the people's trust in protecting the nation and the homeland, advancing public welfare, and educating the nations as stated in the 1945 Constitution.

“The government should work with integrity and accountability so the people will believe that at the people believe that there are no violations in tax management,” he said. (usa)
