Amin Nurdin and Ahmad Mukri Aji Inaugurated as Professors of UIN Jakarta
Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis inaugurates Amin Nurdin and Ahmad Mukri Aji as new Professors, Wednesday (05/18/2022) held at Main Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta. Amin Nurdin was inaugurated as Professor of Sociology of Religion while Ismatu Ropi was inaugurated as a Professor of Professor of Fiqh Science.
Rector in her remarks congratulated the two newly appointed professors. “I hope the newly appointed professors can carry out their duties as well as possible. A professor is expexted to provide solutions to problems that arise in society through their respective knlowledge,” said Rector Amany.
Rector also added that the inauguration of the two professors of Fiqh and Sociology of Religion, which coincides with the 65th year of UIN Jakarta, will raise optimism for the strengthening of fiqh and Islamic studies at UIN Jakarta.
In the inauguration ceremony, the two professors delivered their respective scientific speeches. Amin delivered a scientific speech titled “Akankah Multikulturalisme Berakhir? Thalitun li Abawyn: Masalah Transformasi Identitas Imigran Muslim di Eropa”, while Mukri delivered a scientific speech titled “Implementasi Maqashid al-Syari’ah dan Aktualisasinya dalam Kehidupan Masyarakat Indonesia “.
Amin is a lecturer at the Religious Studies Masters Program at the Ushuluddin Faculty. He teaches a number of subjects such as Sociology of Religion, Introduction to Religious Studies, Conflict and Peace Studies in Religion, and Approaches to Religious Studies.
After completing his undergraduate to doctoral education at UIN Jakarta, Amin is noted to have extensive experience as an academic. He has done a lot of research on multiculturalism in Australia and Europe, he also publishes Ulumul Quran Journal and the Jurnal Himpunan Peminatan ilmu-Ilmu Ushuluddin (HIPIUS).
While Mukri, he teaches at the Comparative Schools of Islamic Jurisprudence Department, Faculty of Sharia and Law. He teaches subjects such as Muqaranah Madhahib Fiqh Munakahat, Muqaran Fiqh Studies, Comparative Ushul Fiqh, Muqaranah Mazahib fil Ushul and others.
Apart from teaching, he also does a lot of research on the fiqh dynamics among Indonesian people. He also involved in various social service activities by leading the Bogor Regency Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and leading a boarding school educational institution in his hometown, Parung, West Java.
