It is known, as a series of welcoming the big world political event of the G20 Summit, R20 will be held on November 2-3, 2022 in Bali. The R20 Forum is designed in a special format to discuss various religious issues in dealing with various global humanitarian problems as well as their solutions.
In addition to R20, AICIS is also part of the road to G20 activity which was held in two locations, namely Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara and Bali. The first stage of the 21st AICIS event was successfully held on 20-22 October 2022 in Lombok. The second phase starts from 1-4 November 2022 in Bali.
A total of 172 people including 58 leaders of State Religious Universities, Governor of Bali, Regent of Bangli, Chair of the DPRD Bangli, and Director General of Hindu Community Guidance, including the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis attended AICIS entitled “Future Religion in G-20, Digital Transformation, Knowledge Management and Social Resilience”.
According to the Director General of Islamic Education (Dirjen Pendis) of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muhammad Ali Ramadhani, the main themes and issues are in response to the latest developments in the discourse and the demands of contemporary Islamic studies at the national and global levels.
As stated in the declaration, the 21st AICIS proposes at least nine points regarding future religion for further consideration as a form of action.
One of them, it is stated that every religion needs to ensure its adherents continue to seek, expand, and deepen relevant knowledge by strengthening the learning culture, education system, and religious education program, and empowering them with a strong character and a cosmopolitan worldview at the same time.
Moreover, in the future, religions must stand together to prevent all kinds of religious intolerance, radicalism and extremism, and promote religious moderation by promoting proper religious education, economic justice and political justice.
In addition, on the basis of ukhuwwah Islamiyyah, ukhuwwah wataniyyah and ukhuwwah bashariyyah, religions must unite and work together to equip their people with the capacity and credibility needed to promote peace, manage a peaceful life, and ultimately achieve the very basic values of religion as a grace.
Therefore, through the momentum of the 21st AICIS and R20, it is hoped that a mutual agreement will be born on the importance of religion being present and appearing as part of the solution to global problems. (fa/usa)
