AICIS+ 2025: UIN Jakarta's Exhibition of Islamic Education Breakthrough in National Development

Depok, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta once again demonstrated its active engagement in the national academic sphere through its participation in the Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS+ 2025), hosted by Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) in Depok on Wednesday (29/10/2025).

As part of the Science and Education Expo, UIN Jakarta showcased a range of academic innovations, research works, and scholarly publications, highlighting the university’s contribution as an Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKI) in addressing global challenges through strengthened research and scholarly collaboration.

AICIS+ 2025 not only featured academic sessions but also presented several side events, including the Halal and International Culinary Expo and the Science and Education Expo, serving as platforms for PTKIs and Islamic schools (madrasahs) to present their creative works. Participants and students visited UIN Jakarta's booth, which was located in the Plaza Tiga Pilar area, in large numbers.

The booth featured various academic products, including the latest scientific journals, faculty profiles, and student works. Visitors were also able to engage directly with university representatives to discuss study programs, student activities, and research opportunities at UIN Jakarta.

The Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A, Ph.D., who attended the event, expressed his appreciation for the organization of AICIS+ 2025.

“AICIS+ demonstrates that Islamic universities in Indonesia have the capacity to contribute to global solutions. The themes of eco-theology and technological transformation are highly relevant to UIN Jakarta’s vision, which integrates faith, knowledge, and humanity,” he stated.

UIN Jakarta’s participation also received enthusiastic responses from visitors, including students from madrasahs. One of them, Fira, a student from MAN 4 Jakarta, shared her impressions after visiting the UIN Jakarta booth:

“The booth is appealing to me, and the student representatives from UIN Jakarta are friendly and informative. As a result, I learned a lot about UIN Jakarta’s academic programs and student organizations,” she shared.

Through this participation, UIN Jakarta aims to strengthen collaboration among PTKIs while introducing its academic innovations and research publications to the public. The event also served as an important platform to highlight UIN Jakarta’s tangible contribution to advancing knowledge and promoting a moderate, inclusive, and globally competitive understanding of Islam.

AICIS+ 2025 was officially opened by the Secretary-General of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and attended by hundreds of scholars, researchers, students, and representatives from Islamic educational institutions across Indonesia and abroad. Islamic universities, including UIN Jakarta, reaffirm their leading role in developing scholarship based on Islamic and humanitarian values through this forum.
