Ahmad Fauzi Encourages UIN Jakarta Graduates to Embrace Integrity, Collaboration, and Lifelong Learning

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – In a heartfelt address, Drs. Ahmad Fauzi, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), shared valuable insights with graduates during UIN Jakarta’s 134th commencement ceremony on Saturday, (16/11/2024). The event took place in the Harun Nasution Auditorium, where Fauzi revisited his roots as an alumnus of UIN Jakarta and inspired the new graduates to face the future with confidence and character.

Reflecting on his academic journey, Fauzi recalled his years at UIN Jakarta, then known as IAIN Jakarta, which he described as transformative. “Standing here reminds me of my own graduation 30 years ago. This campus has been a pivotal part of my life,” he said warmly.

Fauzi acknowledged the profound influence of his professors and campus activities on his personal and professional growth. He expressed admiration for the university’s recent strides, noting its enhanced infrastructure and learning facilities. “Seeing the progress of this institution fills me with immense pride,” he stated.

Highlighting UIN Jakarta’s impact on Indonesia’s intellectual landscape, Fauzi mentioned notable alumni such as TB Ace Hasan Syadzily, the current Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), and Mochammad Afifuddin, Chair of the General Elections Commission (KPU RI). “These accomplishments demonstrate the caliber of individuals nurtured by UIN Jakarta,” he remarked.

Fauzi urged graduates to uphold the values of honesty, perseverance, and smart work instilled during their time at UIN Jakarta. “Your education here is a foundation for building a successful and meaningful future,” he emphasized.

He reminded the graduates to view learning as a lifelong endeavor. “Education does not end with graduation. The world is dynamic, and continuous learning is essential to remain relevant and impactful,” he advised.

Stressing the importance of collaboration, Fauzi encouraged graduates to build meaningful partnerships. “In life, we achieve more together. Collaboration is the key to navigating challenges and achieving success,” he said.

Drs. Ahmad Fauzi, who studied at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training from 1989 to 1995, now represents Banten Province in the DPR RI as a member of the National Awakening Party. He stands as a proud example of how UIN Jakarta’s education can shape leaders committed to serving their communities and advancing the nation.
