Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah is now indexed by Scopus
Rectorate, UIN News Online – The need for scientific journals with international reputation, especially in the field of Islamic law (sharia), is very high. The existence of internationally reputable scientific journals within the Islamic higher education institution (PTKI) is still not comparable to the number of lecturers who need internationally reputable publications, especially to increase their competitiveness at the international level.
This was said by the Dean of FSH (Faculty of Sharia and Law) UIN Jakarta, Ahmad tholabi Kharlie to UIN News online on Monday (02/15/2021).
As a response to the need, said Tholabi, FSH UIN Jakarta currently has the Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah which is now indexed by Scopus. Led by by Khamami Zada, as Editor in-Chief, Ahkam is indexed by Scopus after obtaining Sinta 2 accreditation for the second time from the Indonesian Ministry of Research and Higher Education.
“Since 2015, the Ahkam Journal team has been seriously preparing journal indexation
towards Scopus. Khamami Zada, as Editor in-Chief of, has been making serious preparations over the past two years,” explained Tholabi.
Serious steps taken by the Ahkam, continued Tholabi, is by expanding the network of international reviewers and authors in five continents. The next decisive step is to choose quality articles that have a high standard of English.
“This language standard is based on the results of consistent reviews from the English editors of the Ahkam team, who in fact graduated from international reputable universities,” he said.
In line with Tholabi, Ahkam Editor in-Chief Khamami Zada also said that said that this pattern is to ensure the articles to be published meet the standards required by Ahkam
“We expand international reviewers and writers so that Ahkam is connected internationally. The selection of articles was strictly carried out with a focus on substance and language,” said Khamami.
Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie also emphasized that the success of the Ahkam Journal towards Scopus, shows the persistence of UIN Jakarta to be at the forefront in enhancing international reputation and recognition.
Separately, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis warmly welcomed the success of the Ahkam Journal. Rector Amany also said that hse would always support the preparation of journals at UIN Jakarta towards Scopus.
“The journal strengthening program at UIN Jakarta will continue to be carried out to improve global reputation and recognition,” said Rector.
For information, Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah is published by Faculty of Sharia & Law UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Sharia Scientist and Scholar (HISSI). This scientific periodical specializes in the study of Sharia and publishes twice a year (June and December). (usa/ns)
