Jakarta, UIN Online News —  UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, conducted an academic forum entitled "Implementing a Love-Based Curriculum for a Peaceful World."

This event included speakers from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which functioned as a forum to establish a new direction for Indonesian education on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Rector of UIN Jakarta, highlighted the significance of delivering humanistic education in this academic forum. According to him, a love-based curriculum exemplifies Islam rahmatan lil-'alamin, addressing contemporary educational difficulties.

“We aim to cultivate love, empathy, and universal human values that are harmonized with Islamic spirit of universality,” he stated.

Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, M.Sc., Ph.D., the Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta, asserted that a love-centered curriculum can be effectively implemented in everyday educational practices with proper teachers' behavior and the instructional methods employed in the classroom.

"Love can be manifested through the teacher's empathetic demeanor, cooperative learning strategies, and recognition of each individual difference in the classroom," she assured.

Dr. Yogi Anggraena, M.Si., from the Kemendikdasmen, announced the new policy via Ministerial Regulation Number 13 of 2025, which prioritizes deep learning and incorporates Coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) subjects commencing in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Zulkifli, M.Si., from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, added that the Love-Based Curriculum will function as a pedagogical framework in madrasas, engaging teachers, school administrators, parents, and the community.

This forum reinforces UIN Jakarta's dedication to fostering an educational environment that emphasizes not only academic excellence but also the development of students' character to be compassionate, tolerant, and well-principled.
