Accelerated Legal Tracks via Recognition of Prior Learning, UIN Jakarta Partners with PERADI to Launch Elite Professional Bar Training Program

JAKARTA, UIN Online News – The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is finalizing operational preparations to launch the Professional Advocate Education Program (PPA). Executed through a strategic alliance with the Professional Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI Profesional), the structural initiative is engineered to expand elite professional licensing access for law graduates pursuing careers as defense counsels, corporate lawyers, and judicial officers.

The Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, M.H., clarified that the institutional preparation encompasses setting up governance regulations, synchronizing the Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) curricula with the advanced PPA matrices, mobilizing senior faculty assets, and securing final statutory operational licenses.

"The establishment of the PPA program delivers a highly structured, premium professional track for future advocates. Through this corporate synergy between academia and the national bar association, we aim to upscale the competency of junior lawyers while breeding high-integrity legal officers capable of championing global justice," Dean Maksum asserted on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

The macro-alliance was officially signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D., and the General Chairman of the National Executive Board of PERADI Profesional, Prof. Dr. Harris Arthur Hedar, M.H., in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The national legal consolidation was executed concurrently with 111 premier universities across Indonesia.

The high-level signing ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., the Director-General of Islamic Education, Prof. Dr. Amin Suyitno, alongside law deans and bar association executives nationwide.

A central operational pillar of the UIN Jakarta-PERADI pact is the systemic integration of the PKPA training model into the university's formal graduate school matrix. Under this framework, applicants holding verified PKPA certifications can access the PPA program via the advanced Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism, exempting them from repeating foundational legal courses and significantly accelerating their professional bar certification timeline.

Furthermore, Dean Maksum explained that launching the PPA program directly implements the latest structural directives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, which formally unlocked autonomous professional pathways for legal advocates.

This professional education expansion aligns with UIN Jakarta's long-term corporate master plan to host specialized postgraduate tracks, mirroring the university's highly successful operational models in Teacher Professional Education (PPG) and Medical Residency Training programs.

Through this institutional upgrade, FSH UIN Jakarta guarantees the deployment of data-backed, rigorous legal training to ensure its graduates hold a competitive edge within national and international judicial complexes.
