Academic community of FIKES UIN Jakarta holds Salat al-Gha'ib for Christchurch shootings and Sentani flash flood disaster victims

FIKES, UIN News Online – Dean of Health Sciences (FIKES) Faculty Zulhaida invites the academic community of FIKES to participate in Salat al-Gha'ib (Absentee funeral prayer) for the victim of Christchurch mosque shootings and Sentani flood disaster, Monday (03/18/2019).

Zulhaida in her remarks expressed her concern and sympathy for the victims. “We deeply saddened to learn of the injury and loss of life cause by the senseless acts of violence at two mosques in Christchurch, we will manifest our sense of empathy in form taught by our Prophet Muhammad, by performing Salat al-Gha'ib,” said Zulhaida.

In line with Zulhaida, Deputy dean for Student Affairs Irma Nurbaeti, also expressed her deepest condolences for Sentani flash flood disaster victims.

“We, the FIKES academic community always unite for peace, solidarity and humanity. We are currently carrying out humanitarian aid fundraising for the victims of Sentani flash flood through FIKES PEDULI program,” she said.

The Salat al-Gha'ib ook place in the 3rd floor of the FIKES building and led by FIKES chief librarian Heru Widodo. (usa)
