73 UIN Jakarta Students Receive Social Trust Fund Scholarships
Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Social Trust Fund (STF) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to higher education by awarding scholarships to 73 students during the 2026 Scholarship Award Ceremony, held at the Aula Madya on Wednesday (15 April 2026).
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D., Chair of the Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LP2M) and Director of STF; Prof. Dr. H. Husni Rahim, Professor at the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK) and scholarship benefactor; Drs. Subarja, M.Pd., one of STF's founders; Ferawati Gondokusumo representing Tokio Marine Insurance Group; members of the STF management team; and scholarship recipients.
In her remarks, Prof. Amelia Fauzia expressed her gratitude to all individuals and institutions that have continued to support STF's mission of providing educational assistance to students in need. She reported that 73 students had been selected as scholarship recipients for the current semester and expressed hope that the number would continue to increase in the future.
“This semester, 73 students have received scholarships. We sincerely hope that, in the years ahead, even more students will benefit from this program,” she said.
Prof. Amelia also introduced several scholarship schemes managed by STF, including the Professor Azyumardi Azra Scholarship (PAAS) and the Professor Nabila Lubis Scholarship (PNLS). In addition to scholarships, STF operates an Emergency Education Fund, which provides short-term financial assistance to help students complete semester registration on time when facing unexpected financial difficulties.
She further explained that STF manages an Endowment Fund, established through cash waqf (Islamic endowment) contributions from members of the university community, alumni, and the general public. The fund is intended to ensure the long-term sustainability of scholarship assistance for students with financial needs.
During the event, Prof. Dr. H. Husni Rahim praised STF as a meaningful initiative that reflects the university's commitment to supporting students through community-based philanthropy. He noted that many students are eager to become involved in managing the program because of its positive impact.
“Those who manage STF are individuals who truly uphold strong values. While many scholarship programs exist, STF is unique because it mobilizes the university's own resources to provide financial assistance for students who need it most,” he explained.
He further emphasized that STF distinguishes itself through its close understanding of students' circumstances and its genuine concern for their educational success.
The ceremony also highlighted the continued support of Tokio Marine Insurance Group, represented by Ferawati Gondokusumo, which remains committed to contributing to STF's scholarship initiatives. The program has likewise received strong encouragement from Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who has consistently promoted STF's fundraising and scholarship campaigns as part of the university's commitment to educational accessibility and student welfare.
