6 UIN Jakarta Students Ready for Religious Moderation KKN Nusantara in Kulonprogo

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is collaborating with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs to implement the Religious Moderation Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Nusantara program. This initiative will take place in Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, as part of efforts to foster values of tolerance, harmony, and diversity within the community.

UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., stated during the send-off and briefing to the participating students that they are not there to lecture the community, but rather to integrate themselves and jointly instill inclusive and tolerant religious living values.

“UIN Jakarta isn't here to teach the community, but to learn together with them, to blend in, and to instill religious moderation values so they can be applied directly in daily life,” he said.

Quoting an official statement from UIN Jakarta's Center for Community Service (PPM), the six students selected for this program are Audrey Ismiya Yusman, Latifah Zahra, Rafiansyah Alma, Rian Dwiyanto, Ridho Rizki Balebat, and Lilis Khopifah. They are expected to apply religious moderation values directly within the community, while also strengthening the spirit of togetherness and interfaith harmony.

This KKN is a concrete manifestation of UIN Jakarta's commitment to internalizing and disseminating the principles of religious moderation, not only within the campus environment but also directly among the wider community. It is hoped that the values of religious moderation they bring will become an inspiration and a driving force for harmony in the local communities they serve.
