37 UIN Jakarta Graduates of Health Science Program Officially Take Pharmacist Oath

Tadjudin Auditorium, UIN Online News — A total of 37 new physicians from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta officially took the Hippocratic Oath on Wednesday (22/10/2025). The 54th Physician’s Oath-Taking Ceremony was held solemnly at the Faculty of Medicine, coinciding with National Santri Day 2025, symbolizing the integration of medical science and Islamic values—a hallmark of UIN Jakarta.
The event was attended by UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. dr. Ahmad Zaki, M.P.H., SpOT; Director General of Advanced Health Services at the Ministry of Health, dr. Azhar Jaya, S.A.N.; along with vice rectors, professors, and representatives from partner teaching hospitals such as RSUP Fatmawati and RSU Sitanala. Faculty members, staff, and proud families of the graduates also filled the auditorium, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and emotion.
In his remarks, Asep Saipudin Jahar expressed his gratitude for the graduated medical students from UIN Jakarta who master the field of medicine and embody the noble character of Muslim scientists.
“As responsible professionals, your patients surrender their lives to you. Being a doctor means serving the people, which positions you as the gatekeeper between life and death. Trust me, when you prioritize humanity, Allah will place the good things in your way,” he encouraged.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmad Zaki highlighted that the oath marks not an end, but the beginning of a lifelong commitment.
“The Hippocratic Oath is not just an academic formality; it is a universal moral and spiritual covenant. From this day forward, your responsibility is no longer to your lecturers but to society,” he stated.
dr. Azhar Jaya, representing the Ministry of Health, also encouraged the graduates to serve medical facilities across Indonesia.
“The nation needs physicians who are willing to serve beyond populated cities like Jakarta. Never let your patient down when they need help the most,” he urged.
On behalf of the new doctors, dr. Silvie Willia Marsyida expressed her gratitude and hopes for her peers to become doctors who are trustworthy and beneficial to humanity.
“May the knowledge we gained become a lasting charity for the society and Allah's humility,” she conveyed.
Representing the parents of the graduated students, dr. Azhar Jaya also conveyed a closing message, reminding the new physicians to uphold integrity and serve with sincerity.
“Doctor is both a virtuous profession and devotion. So, there is no way you can overly monetize your skill for the people,” he closed.
