17 Candidates for Rector Present their Vision and Mission
Diorama Room, UIN News Online – 17 candidates for the Rector of UIN Jakarta for the period of 2023-2027 presented their vision, mission and work program for the development of UIN Jakarta. The presentation was made at the University Senate’s Plenary Meeting which took place at the Diorama Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (10/05/2022).
Led by the Head of University Senate Dede Rosyada, the plenary meeting itself is aimed to give qualitative consideration to Rector candidates. “Today’s agenda is to listen to the presentation of the vision, mission, and work program of each candidate’s which at the same time becomes the basis for qualitative consideration of the Rector candidates,” he said.
Rector candidates are given 10 minutes to present their vision, mission, and programs. During this time, they were given the opportunity to explain the vision and mission without a question and answer session.
Based on UIN News Online observation, the candidates presented many ideas for the development of UIN Jakarta. In addition to strengthening integrative Islamic-scientific studies, strengthening research and publications, developing partnerships, optimizing resources, a number candidates also encouraged the transformation of UIN Jakarta as a green campus.
Furthermore, Head of University Senate Dede Rosyada said that the qualitative considerations given by the members of the senate will later be submitted to the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in determining the candidate to be appointed as Rector.
“Qualitative considerations and other documents will be submitted to the Minister. The Minister will later form a Selection Committee which will disclose all submitted data. So the committee will give consideration to the Minister in determining the best among all, the most worthy, to be promoted as Rector,” he explained.
Separately, one of the senate members who gave qualitative considerations, Arief Mufraini appreciated the presentation of the vision and mission of the candidates.
“Actually, the 17 people already have advanced knowledge on how to direct UIN Jakarta in the future. This means that their knowledge is already on the right track about how UIN Jakarta should be in the future. And it is translated quite well in the respective vision and mission. So we just hope for the best from those who will lead UIN Jakarta,” he said. (zm/usa)
