137th Graduation Ceremony Day 3: UIN Jakarta Prepares Fresh Graduates with Islamic-Based Industrial Skills
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held the third day of its 137th Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Graduation Ceremony on Saturday (August 30, 2025) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium. A total of 765 graduates were officially conferred, consisting of 266 graduates from the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), 373 from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and 126 from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).
The ceremony began with the reading of the graduation decree by the Senate Secretary, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, M.A., M.H., followed by the official conferment of degrees by UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.
In his address, the Rector highlighted the importance of preparing UIN Jakarta graduates for the era of Industry 5.0, a digitally driven era that must remain grounded in spiritual values. He emphasized that while technological developments such as artificial intelligence, big data, and automation bring tremendous opportunities, they also pose ethical challenges.
"The theme of this graduation reminds us that technological advancement must never compromise Islamic ethics. Honesty, justice, and social responsibility should coexist with digital innovation. This is the key distinction of UIN Jakarta graduates—you are expected to create innovations that are not only technologically advanced but also ethically grounded," he affirmed.
The event was also attended by Elva Farhi Qolbina, S.IP., an alumna of FISIP UIN Jakarta and a member of the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives. In her remarks, she encouraged the graduates to remain committed to the process and not underestimate a first step.
"We cannot obtain everything we desire instantly. There will be moments of loss, disappointment, and even unfair comparisons. But it is the loyalty to small efforts that leads us to greater responsibilities," she advised.
Representing the graduates, Annisa Dinda Rahmasari, the Best Graduate from the Faculty of Economics and Business, expressed her gratitude and pride in being part of UIN Jakarta.
"Graduating from UIN Jakarta is a great honor for us. This degree is not merely a symbol of academic success but a trust to continue growing, learning, and contributing to national development. In line with the graduation theme, we believe that technological advancement must always be guided by ethics and spirituality," she shared.
Annisa also reminded her fellow graduates that success is unique for everyone.
"Regardless of what GPA we achieved or how long our academic journey took, each of us is the best version of ourselves. Today is the proof of our parents’ prayers and the beginning of a new journey to contribute meaningfully to society," she added.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of honors for outstanding graduates and best theses, the reading of the graduate’s pledge, the singing of UIN’s hymn, and a rendition of the national song.
