136th Graduation Procession: UIN Jakarta Rector Delivers Message to Graduates

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again held its 136th graduate inauguration procession. A total of 569 graduates and invited guests, including families, relatives, and guardians of the graduates, filled the Harun Nasution Auditorium ruangan on Saturday (24/05/2025). The opening of the open senate session by the Chairman of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada, commenced the graduate inauguration procession.

The graduate inauguration procession was led directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepuddin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D. After the inauguration procession, in his speech, the Rector expressed gratitude mixed with happiness at this graduation moment, which carried the theme "Pioneers of Sustainable Change Towards Golden Indonesia 2045". The UIN Jakarta Rector gave appreciation to the graduates. The Rector stated that the graduates' journey was not something simple and would be different for each individual.

“I am sure your journey to reach this point was not easy. Everyone has their own struggles. There are costs, energy, thoughts, and prayers behind your realization as graduates today,” said the Rector.

After appreciating the graduates, the Rector led all graduates to reflect a little on what awaits them after this, what they will face after this, and how they can overcome things step by step, in pursuit of success.

“Try asking yourselves. What exactly is the niche (factor) for the success of successful people out there,” asked Prof. Asep.

In his question, the Rector invited all graduates to see the existing reality. He advised the graduates to become individuals who never feel content with today's goodness. Goodness must continue to increase every day. The existing processes are not only formed from good diplomas, but the willingness to continue learning, reflect on it, then strive for something better for tomorrow, is also the main provision in treading the path of success.

Prof. Asep also advised all graduates that graduates must have a UIN personality. A personality capable of adapting to all lines of life. Many alumni have filled positions in life, in national life, state life, social life, and commerce. The fast-paced world through technological development and digitalization increasingly demands graduates to always adapt in any environment later.

“A UIN personality is a personality that is able to adapt and continuously learn about everything that emerges in society. If you are able to apply that, then you will be able to welcome the opportunities you will encounter,” said Prof. Asep.

As part of the 136th graduation theme, “Pioneers of Sustainable Change Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” the Rector emphasized that today's achievement must be the beginning of a long-term commitment. Graduates are expected to continue learning, developing, and not stopping at a mere degree, but actively responding to the ever-changing challenges of the times.

In the midst of digital transformation currents and social dynamics, graduates are encouraged to adapt, think critically, and contribute nyata. Equipped with scholarly values and social responsibility, UIN Jakarta graduates are expected to be part of consistent and sustainable change towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

In closing, the Rector invited the graduates to thank all parties who contributed, especially their parents. The Rector advised that this success should be a moment of perfect gratitude by thanking the parents who have supported and even sacrificed, both energy, material, moral, and most importantly, the prayers of the parents who always accompanied the graduates.

“Do not let your success today hurt your parents' hearts. Do not forget to say thank you. Actualize that gratitude with your works, achievements, and great endeavors in the future. My prayers are always with you, graduates,” concluded the Rector.
