UIN Jakarta's 137th Graduates, Are You Ready?
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held an Open Senate Session for its 137th Grand Graduation Ceremony on Saturday (August 24, 2025). The first day of graduation included 590 graduates from the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training (FITK), 58 from the Faculty of Psychology (FPSI), and 37 from the Graduate School (SPS), for a total of 685 graduates.
Senate Secretary, Prof. Masri Mansoer, M.Ag., officially opened the Open Senate Session with an introductory statement stating that Indonesia has entered the era of the 5.0 industrial revolution, a phase of technological intelligence that is increasingly dominating the industrial sector and shaping social life. This aligns with the theme "Digital Innovation and Islamic Ethics: Building a Sustainable Civilization in the Era of the 5.0 Industrial Revolution."
"This is where Islam comes into play as a moral compass. Islam teaches a balance between Man with Man, Man with God and even Man with Nature," he stated.
This was followed by the reading of the Rector's Decree on Graduation by Prof. Ahmad Tholabi S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., the Inauguration Speech for the Graduates by Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., and a speech by the Vice Graduates delivered by Kinanti Adlina Putri, the best graduate of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training.
The Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., delivered his speech at the Grand Graduation Ceremony. He emphasized that graduates must be prepared to face the world after graduation and compete with alumni from other private and public universities.
"We must look ahead as alumni. The dramatic challenge ahead is the job market. Will you be able to compete? We meet successful alumni from various private and public universities. Yet, your future is still long to be determined, do you?," he questioned.
The 137th Grand Graduation Ceremony also featured alumni of UIN Jakarta, serving as role models for the graduates in improving their quality of life and enthusiasm.
Drs. Nurul Yakin Benhok, a graduate of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching at UIN Jakarta, is now the Founder and President Director of PT. Multi Hokkindo Adji. As an alumnus who has pursued an international career, Drs. Nurul Yakin Benhok attended the graduation to provide motivation, encouragement, and support to all 137 graduates, by sharing stories of his life experiences in facing global challenges.
He explained that achieving great achievements is extraordinary, but work and self-development also require initiative in carrying out and executing tasks effectively.
"In the real world, character, instinct, gut feeling, and reflexes are crucial, because what's needed in the real world isn't just innovators and creators, but above them all are the executors," he assured.
The first day of the 137th Grand Graduation Ceremony concluded with a series of events, including the transfer of the tongs by the rector and the presentation of diplomas by the dean, along with awarding to the best graduate and thesis categories.
