Six Professors Deliver Academic Orations in Inaugural Procession

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News- UIN Jakarta once again inaugurated six professors from various fields of knowledge in the Open Senate Session for the Inauguration of Professors on Wednesday (15/5/2024). The inauguration, held at the Main Auditorium of Harun Nasution, was attended by the university's rector, deans, invited guests, and the families of each professor.

The inauguration commenced with an opening address by the Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.A., followed by the reading of the Decree by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A. Subsequently, the inauguration procession was led by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., until its completion.

The six inaugurated professors are Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rohman, M.A., Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., M.A., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaidillah, M.A. The other three professors are Prof. Nur Hidayah, S.Ag., S.E., M.A., M.A., Ph.D., Prof. Arif Zamhari, M. Ag., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Ambran Hartono, S.Si., M.Si.

During his inauguration, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rohman, M.A., delivered an academic speech titled "Academic Studies or Apologetic Studies of the Qur'an and Exegesis in Indonesian Islamic Higher Education Institutions." He was inaugurated as a Professor in the field of Islamic Thought at UIN Jakarta.

Next, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., M.A., Ph.D., delivered his speech titled "The Concept of Al-Mudarah (Soft Politics) by K.H. Abdul Chalim (1898-1972): Islamic Civilization in the Early 20th Century (1916-1928)." He was appointed as a Professor in the field of History and Islamic Civilization at UIN Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaidillah, M.A., explained his academic speech entitled "Revitalizing Civic Education in Islamic Higher Education Institutions: Experiences and Contributions of IAIN/UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta." He was formally appointed as a Professor in the field of Islamic Political History at UIN Jakarta.

Furthermore, Prof. Nur Hidayah, S.Ag., S.E., M.A., M.A., delivered an academic speech titled "Islamic Economics and Finance: The Dialectics of Shariah and the Welfare of the Community." She was inaugurated as a Professor in the field of Sharia Economics at UIN Jakarta.

This was followed by Prof. Arif Zamhari, M. Ag., Ph.D., presenting his academic speech on "Migration, Religion, and Identity: The Formation of Hybrid Identities among Muslim Immigrant Youth in Germany." He was designated as a Professor in the field of Sociology of Religion at UIN Jakarta.

Lastly, Prof. Dr. Ambran Hartono, S.Si., M.Si., delivered his academic speech titled "Strengthening Character Transformation, Science, and Technology in Responding to the Challenges of the 5.0 Industrial Era Towards National Independence." He was inaugurated as a Professor in the field of Applied Physics at UIN Jakarta.

In his address, the Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.A., expressed appreciation and congratulations for the academic achievements of the six professors. He emphasized the significant mission of professors in advancing scientific research with an integration of religion and science, aiming to establish a strong spiritual foundation for scholarly pursuits.
