Six Professors Confirmed, UIN Jakarta Now Has 138 Professors

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — Just a week later, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again confirmed six professors on Wednesday (15/5/2024). This confirmation event marks an increase in the number and diversity of academic disciplines at UIN Jakarta, thereby enhancing the university's reputation as the State Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKIN) with the highest number of professors in Indonesia.

The event, held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, was attended by the senate chair, rector, Vice Rectors (Warek), and deans of UIN Jakarta. Not only that, but the event was also enlivened by the presence of invited guests and the families of each professor.

The confirmed professors are Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rahman, M.A. (Islamic Thought), Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., MA., Ph.D. (Islamic History and Civilization), Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaedillah, M.A. (Islamic Political History), Prof. Dr. Nur Hidayah, S.Ag., S.E., M.A., Ph.D. (Islamic Economic Law), Prof. Arif Zamhari, M.Ag., Ph.D (Sociology of Religion), and Prof. Dr. Ambran Hartono, S.Si., M.Si (Applied Physics).

The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, and a prayer. The senate session was opened by the chairman of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer M.Ag, and the reading of the professorship decree was conducted by the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A.

The Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer M.Ag, congratulated the newly confirmed six professors. He also expressed hope that the addition of professors at UIN Jakarta, which now totals 128 across various faculties, will enhance academic productivity and generate new theories, thus realizing the aspiration to bring Islam into various aspects of human life.

"Professors have an important vision and mission to strengthen their scientific research to reinforce their empirical experiences," he stated.

The event continued with speeches from each professor. Congratulations from various national figures and universities, including the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno L. P. Marsudi, added to the festivity of this confirmation. The confirmation was led by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.

The event was also enlivened by the donning of the professorial sashes and the presentation of the decree by the UIN Jakarta rector, concluding with a group photo session.
