Jakarta, UIN Online News - The Center for Community Service (PPM) at UIN Jakarta has selected ten students to participate in the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. These students were chosen from among 77 who passed the administrative selection process.

The selection process for the Thematic KKN involved only document submission and interviews, without any stringent assessments. Registration was open from April 29 to May 5, 2024. Subsequently, interviews were conducted on May 14, with the selection announcement made later that evening.

The list of selected students includes: Khanif Amrulloh, Comparative School student; Fadhilah, Quranic Studies student; Iman Mauludin, Islamic Broadcasting Communication student; Raka Mubarokah, Family Law student; Hakim Muhyiddin, Islamic Philosophy student; Zidni Salma, Islamic Education student; Mutiara Dila, Arabic Language and Literature student; Erray, Islamic Studies student; Aba Syukur, International Relations student; and Ulya Salsabila, Mathematics student.

According to Kaula Fahmi, M.Hum., the Coordinator of the KKN Program at PPM UIN Jakarta, the Thematic KKN in Yogyakarta is organized through the collaboration between UIN Jakarta and UIN Yogyakarta.

Kaula mentioned that the assigned location for the students' service is in Gunung Kidul Regency. "Gunung Kidul is deemed suitable because it is still classified as a frontier, leading, and remote area," Kaula responded during an interview on Tuesday (28/05/2024).

Furthermore, Kaula stated that due to the collaboration, the program will follow UIN Yogyakarta's lead, and the work program may involve socio-cultural aspects.

The students will be stationed there from July 10 to August 21, 2024. Fortunately, the expenses for travel to Yogyakarta and back to Jakarta will be covered by the university.

One of the selected students, Iman Mauliddin, expressed his choice for the Thematic KKN in Yogyakarta as an opportunity for exploring new experiences. The Fdikom student aims to utilize his media skills to assist in promoting the culture and tourism of the region.

"Moreover, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta, has fascinating tourist attractions and rich cultural heritage," said Iman during a WhatsApp interview on Thursday (23/05/2024).
