Ma'had Al-Jami'ah UIN Jakarta Introduces Freshmen to Art, Islamic Ethics, and Artificial Intelligence in MOSA 2025

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — Ma'had Al-Jami'ah UIN Jakarta conducted the Grand Student Orientation Period (MOSA) on Friday (19/09/2025) to familiarize all students with the Islamic boarding school curriculum.

In his address, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Tholabi S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., articulated that the dormitory is advisable for new students due to the numerous facilities that will assist them, particularly at UIN Jakarta. 

"This program presents new students with an exceptional opportunity based on their experience in Islamic boarding school," he stated.

Present was the Head of UPT Ma'had Al-Jami'ah, Dr. M. Suryadinata M.Ag., who, in his address, urged the students to be inspiring and innovative. He underscored the significance of embodying ethical conduct and lifestyles that align with the principles of the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah students at UIN Jakarta.

"You are all selected individuals from the finest gatherings, and typically, Ma'had Al-Jami'ah students consistently lead the way and are always the alpha," he elucidated.

In a video presentation, H. Anies Rasyid Baswedan, S.E., M.P.P., Ph.D., the Governor of Jakarta from 2017 to 2022, articulated that every student possesses a significant opportunity for character development, competence enhancement, skill augmentation, and network expansion.

"As students, you will be embarking on a new life chapter. Take your opportunities, and ultimately become contributors for the society," he articulated.

The event, themed "Artificial Intelligence & Islamic Ethos: Shaping Characteristic Students in Globalization," included a speaker who emphasized the ethical utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the adaptation of its application.

Fajar Pinastia Arrahman, M.Pd., said that in today's tech-driven world, AI is everywhere and works alongside human progress; therefore, AI should be seen as a tool to help us do our jobs, not as a threat to our jobs.

"AI does not replace humans, but it will undoubtedly replace those who do not utilize it well," he stated.

In the end, MOSA serves as a platform for students to develop and exhibit their talents and interests, showcasing six performances from the six dormitories of Ma'had Al-Jami'ah on this occasion. The Sheikh Nawawi Building, showcasing Nawawi Voice; the Sheikh Abdul Karim Building, highlighting Musical Poetry; the Sharifah Fatimah Building, presenting Poetry Verse Art; the Sharifah Khadijah Building, showing Creative Dance; and the Sharifah Mudaim Building, exhibiting Choral Speaking.
