Learn from the Best, UIN Jember Visits UIN Jakarta in Pursuit of International Level PTKIN

Meeting Room of the AAK Bureau, UIN Online News — UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember conducted a study tour at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to enhance their international accreditation and World University Rankings (QS-WUR) in the Student Affairs Lounge on Thursday (August 14, 2025).

The visit was attended by the Rector of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, Prof. Dr. H. Hepni, S.Ag., M.M.; the Vice Rector 1 of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, Prof. Dr. M. Khusna Amal, S.Ag., M.Si; and also their respective personnel.

There were several leaders, including the Rector of UIN Jakarta, the Vice Rector 1, and the Vice Rector 4, as well as the heads of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) and the International Cooperation Service Center (PLKI).

Prof. Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Rector of UIN Jakarta, emphasized the decrease in student interest in several academic disciplines, notably pure sciences and religious studies. Interest in STEM and religious studies is now beginning to decline.

"We must form a strategy to reinvigorate these issues, as several potential students remain unaware of the post-graduation opportunities," the Rector of UIN Jakarta stated.

He also underscored the necessity for rebranding within the PTKIN context to enhance the appeal of academic offerings to potential students. According to him, rebranding is necessary to enhance the attractiveness of PTKIN's academic offerings to potential students.

Prof. Dr. H. Hepni, S.Ag., M.M., the Rector of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, stated that his institution transitioned to university status in 2021.

"In the pursuit of certification, I have opted to learn directly from here, which now holds the highest rank among PTKINs in Indonesia. UIN Jakarta remains the prestigious one; thus, we came to the right place to study here, particularly for the enhancement of accreditation," the Rector of UIN Jember conveyed.

Prof. M. Khusna Amal, the Vice Rector 1 of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, also stated that his side aims to enhance its internationalization initiatives, particularly with global university rankings—hence, they will collaborate with UIN Jakarta. 

"UIN Jember seeks to acquire extensive knowledge from UIN Jakarta, which has successfully integrated and established its presence in the international world," the Vice Rector 1 of UIN Jember articulated.
