Interested in studying Education and Communication, prospective students can take advantage of the UM-PTKIN Route

Rektorat Building, UIN Online News— Prospective students interested in studying education and communication at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta can apply to study through the State Islamic Higher Education Entrance Examination (UM-PTKIN) route. Moreover, prospective students interested in law, Islamic economics, humanities, and Islamic studies can also apply through this route.

This was stated by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie S.Ag. S.H. M.A. M.H., in his statement in Jakarta, on Sunday (12/5/2024). "In this selection route, UIN Jakarta offers many study programs in the fields of education, communication, Islamic economics, humanities, and Islamic studies," he said.

Various study programs offered, he said, have academic excellence for their students. In addition to being outstanding because they have been established for a long time and have produced many of UIN Jakarta's best graduates, the various study programs offered also have excellent accreditation and quality instructors.

For example, the Islamic Education Study Program. This study program is an outstanding program at UIN Jakarta which has produced thousands of Islamic education teachers in the country.

Several study programs in other educational fields are also excellent. English Education Study Program, Arabic Language Education Study Program, Social Studies Education Study Program, Madrasah Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program, and others have successfully produced educators in related fields at various educational levels in the country.

In terms of accreditation, various study programs in the field of education are mostly accredited A/Excellent. Instructors from various top universities at home and abroad are also recorded as lecturers in various faculties.

In this selection route, continued Vice Rector Tholabi, prospective students can also choose to study in various communication field programs. Among them are the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, Islamic Counseling and Outreach Study Program, Da'wah Management Study Program, and others.

Besides having proven to produce communication and da'wah practitioners in the country, various communication field study programs also have excellent accreditation and the best instructors. For example, the Islamic Broadcasting Communication Study Program and the Da'wah Management Study Program have been accredited as Excellent, while their instructors are noted communication experts such as Professor Andi Faisal Bakti, National Political Communication Observer Gun Gun Herianto, Urban Sociologist Tantan Hermansyah, and others.

In addition to the educational and communication fields of study, the UM-PTKIN route can also be chosen by prospective students interested in delving into the fields of law, Islamic economics, and Islamic studies (Islamic studies or religious studies). "In this route, various excellent study programs in the fields of Islamic economics, law, and Islamic studies are also offered," added the Professor of the Faculty of Shariah.

In the field of law, the UM-PTKIN route provides several study programs in the Faculty of Shariah and Law. Among them are the Islamic Family Law Study Program (Akhwal Syakhsiyyah), Comparative School of Thought Study Program, Constitutional Law Study Program, Islamic Criminal Law Study Program, and Shariah Economic Law Study Program (Muamalah).

Besides being accredited A/Excellent, the Faculty of Shariah and Law is also a faculty with the most professors or full professors. Finally, the Faculty of Shariah and Law appointed 7 (seven) new full professors in the field of Shariah.

For the field of Islamic economics, UIN Jakarta in this route provides several programs in the Faculty of Economics and Business, namely the Shariah Banking Study Program and the Shariah Economics Study Program. In addition to being accredited A/Excellent, Shariah economics programs are also taught by instructors with qualifications as full professors in the field of Shariah Economics such as Prof. Dr. Euis Amelia, M.Ag. (Shariah Supervisory Board at several Islamic financial institutions), Prof. Dr. M. Arief Mufraini, Lc., M.Si. (Indonesian Hajj Financial Management Agency), and others.

For Islamic studies, various programs offered by UIN Jakarta in this route include the Islamic Studies Study Program at the Faculty of Islamic Studies. Prospective students interested in studying Islam similar to studying at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, can choose the Islamic Studies program as it was born and adopted from the curriculum of that university.

The Islamic Studies program is filled with many instructors who are graduates of the best universities in the Middle East such as Al-Azhar University and others. National preachers like Ustadz Adi Hidayat are also recorded as having studied in the program which is now accredited as Excellent both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Several other programs are offered in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences such as the Quran and Tafsir Science Program, Hadith Science Program, Sufism Science Program, Aqidah and Philosophy Program, and Religious Studies Program. Several national Islamic figures are recorded as instructors in various programs of this faculty such as Prof. Dr. H. Nasaruddin Umar M.A. (Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque), Prof. Dr. H. Said Agil Husin Al Munawar, M.A. (Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs for the period 2001-2004), Prof. Dr. Ismatu Ropi M.A. (Researcher at PPIM UIN Jakarta), Dr. K.H. Hasani Ahmad Said MA (National Preacher), and others.

For specialization in the humanities including history, language, and literature, prospective students can also choose the UM-PTKIN route. Several humanities field study programs offered in this route include the Islamic Civilization History Study Program, Arabic Language and Literature Study Program, and Translation Study Program.

In addition to having A/Excellent accreditation, various programs offered also have instructors at the level of full professors in their fields. Among them are Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D. (historian and philanthropy expert), Prof. Dr. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, M.A. (historian and Chairman of the Indonesian Ulama Council), and others.
