Students of FAH Learn Journalism

FAH Building, UIN News—Amount forty students of Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta joined journalism training in the whole October to November 2015. The training which started on Monday (12/10) aims to train journalism ability of the students. Besides general theory, participants of the training also learn about journalism practice like editing and publishes tabloid. The activity which held by Students Executive Board in coordination with FAH , was open by Vice Dean for Students Affairs of FAH, Dr. Zubair MA. In his speech, Zubair said, training is a part of faculty effort to encourage students of FAH with skills. “Through this training, I wish students have beneficial expertise in journalism,” he said. The training that scheduled to held in eights meeting is filled by ZaenaMuttaqin, the Editor in Chief of UIN News and DINAMIKA Magazine of UIN Jakarta. Zaenal who was also former journalist of Seputar Indonesia Newspaper and Indonesia Finance Today presented a number of journalism materials, such as writing techniques, interview techniques, and industry maps in Indonesia. Imam Baihaqi, one of the participants from the first semester of Tarjamah Department confessed that he was glad could be joining that training. Imam who has interest to become a journalist marked that training gave him a lot of knowledge about journalism. “It feels so glad to join this training,” he said. In harmony with imam, Azka, the first semester student of Arabic Language and Literature also conveyed her excitement by joining this program. In addition to know about media industry, Azka also get knowledge about steps to write news. “Hopefully, this could be my modal once I become a journalist,” she hoped. (TAM/IPM)
