Rector of UIN Jakarta attends the MORA national working meeting 2020

Jakarta, UIN News Online –The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) holds National Working Meeting (rakernas) on Wednesday-Friday (01/29-31/2020) at Redtop Hotel, Jakarta. The meeting was attended by the leaders of the Ministry of Religious Affairs work units, including the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Amany Lubis.

Also present in the event, the Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Fachrul Razi, Religious Affairs Deputy Minister Zainut Tauhid, Acting Chairperson for the Pancasila Ideology Education Agency (BPIP) Haryono, BPIP Board of Trustees Tri Sutrisno, Wisnu Bawa Tenaya, Sudhamek, Syafii Maarif, and Said Aqil Siradj, as well as the Heads of Religious Councils.

Secretary General of Ministry of Religious Affairs Nurkholis Setiawan in his report said that the ministry of religious affairs launched 5 priority programs in the 2020 National Working Meeting.

“The five priority programs of the Ministry of Religion are eradicating corruption, improving the quality of the hajj and umrah, reforming religious education, strengthening the religious moderation and halal certification,” said Nurkholis.

The Rakernas, according to Nurkholis, is also an opportunity to give appreciation to inspiring and outstanding leaders in the Ministry of Religious Affairs work units.

“Today we will give a number of awards to the outstanding leaders in the Ministry of Religious Affairs work units. Hopefully this can be a good example for others,” he said.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Fachrul Razi in his opening remarks emphasizing the importance of religious moderation

  “As the largest Muslim population country, Indonesia must be able to implement the Islam rahmatan Lil alamin,” he said.

He also reminded that the improvement of nation’s welfare and development can be achieved if the various religious communities lived in harmony and side by side.

“Muslim countries in the Middle East have also begun implementing religious moderation and open themselves to other religious communities,” said the Minister.

At the end of his remarks, the Minister also emphasized that eradicating corruption is a necessity to ensure the improvement of public services.

“I feel proud, a lot of progress has been made in this Ministry, We also have to reiterate our commitment once again, that there is no unethical behavior (curruption -ed) in this Ministry,” he conclude. (usa/im/hmn)
