Rector of IPB: UIN Jakarta must continue to innovate in various sectors
Bogor, UIN News Online – In order to become one of the leading universities, UIN Jakarta is demanded to continue to develop innovations in the academic, institutional, and community service sectors. This is considered very necessary so that UIN Jakarta becomes more adaptive and responsive to various to various changes that will arise in the future.
This was said by the Rector of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Arif Satria during the opening of UIN Jakarta leaders work meeting (Rakerpim) 2020, in Bogor, Sunday (02/09/2020). He was invited to share his experience in bringing IPB as one of the leading national-regional universities.
“If UIN Jakarta only learns from UI and IPB, UIN Jakarta will always be a follower. But if UIN Jakarta can make various innovations, surely UIN Jakarta will become a leader,” said Arif.
Arif said, the future will be an arena of competition for both individual and organizational. Creativity will be the most important capital for any party in order to survive on the global map. The future, he added, is an area of tremendous change that is in line with the industrial revolution 4.0. The rapid technology such as connectivity and artificial intelligence will be more advanced. Therefore, adaptability and creativity are needed so we can continue to innovate.
“If it is only based on bench marking and following the best practice, then we will forever be adrift as a follower, But if UIN Jakarta becomes the inventor of the best practice, i'm very sure that UIN Jakarta will become a leader,” he said.
Arif also added that the university he leads continues to improve its innovation in the agricultural science sector. At the same time, he also established a relationship by building university partnerships with various parties, even with the farmers.
“Alhamdulillah, from 1,150 national innovations, 39.95% came from IPB. And we have commercialized as much as 25% of that amount,” he added. (usa/zm)
