PPB Opened Class of Language Matriculation

PPB Building, UIN News—Center for Language Development (Pusat Pengembangan Bahasa/PPB) UIN Jakarta has opened a matriculation class of Arabic and English for new students. Participations in the class is expected to increase the two main languages ability, so that the new students will be able to freely accessed academic references written in the languages.

Syahirul Alim M.Si, PPB Staff, uttered that such class is open for free to all new students of UIN Jakarta. All they have to do is just register themselves online through page in the Center’s website or fill electronic form that is provided by the Committee, accessible from 02 to 11 October 2015.

“We give matriculation to the new students. They can join the class, free of charge. All they have to do is just register themselves,” he said to UIN News, Wednesday (07/10).

For the schedule, Arabic matriculation class would take place for 3 days a week, which are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Class is scheduled for 16.00-19.00 on Tuesday and Thursday, and 08.00-11.00 on Saturday.

Different with Arabic matriculation class, English matriculation class is organized every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All of which take place from 16.00 to 19.00.

Syahirul added that the matriculation class is aimed to equip new students with Arabic and English skills. Besides the ability to easily access academic references in Arabic in English, students will be assisted since mastering of the two languages is a requirement for graduation.

For material, language matriculation class is delivered in form of grammatical basic, conversation, and text-reading technique. Besides, instructor for the class is also selected from qualified language lecturers and teacher. (LRF) Translated by Muhammad Ichsan Fadillah
