MORA donates IDR 2 billion to combat COVID-19

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To support COVID-19 ongoing prevention and control efforts, The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) donates IDR 2 billion and a number of medical supplies to the Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital (RSSH), Sunday (03/22/2020).

The assistance was handed over directly by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Fachrul Razi to the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, accompanied by the Directir of the Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital Amir Fauzi.

Also present in the event, Vice Rector for General Administration Ahmad Rodoni, AAKK Bureau Chief Khairunnas, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Hari Hendarto and other officials.

According to the Minister, This assistance came from donations from the Indonesian Waqf Agency (BWI), the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), and various other units within the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“We received a direct report from the Chancellor about the situation of UIN Jakarta and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital. Therefore, we come at once to provide the assistance. Hopefully this assistance can be utilized as well as possible,” he said.

In addition, the Minister also took time to inspect the situation of the UIN Jakarta which was temporarily closed for two weeks. Furthermore, he also inspect the service facilities and the medical team readiness, including conducting online dialogue with the hospital medical team.

“We advised the doctors, nurses, and other medical teams to maintain their health condition,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis expressed her gratitude for the assistance given to the Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital. According to Amany, various support and synergy are needed in facing the COVID-19 outbreaks, which has become a global pandemic.

Separately, the Director of RSSH Amir Fauzi said, the COVID-19 outbreaks encouraged the Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital to improve its service readiness. Like other hospitals, the Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital also reported the lack of availability of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies.

“Thank you for providing us with this vital support, this will certainly be very useful in minimizing the spread of COVID-19,” he said. (usa/zm)
