Profil

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kabir Hassan adalah seorang Profesor Keuangan di Departemen Ekonomi dan Keuangan di The University of New Orleans, di mana beliau juga menjabat sebagai Koordinator Program Pascasarjana untuk gelar Ph.D. dalam Ekonomi Keuangan. Beliau memegang beberapa posisi endowed chair yang bergengsi, termasuk Hibernia Professor of Economics and Finance, Hancock Whitney Chair Professor in Business, dan Bank One Professor in Business. Berasal dari Bangladesh, beliau menempuh pendidikan sarjana di Gustavus Adolphus College sebelum meraih gelar M.A. dalam bidang Ekonomi dan Ph.D. dalam bidang Keuangan dari University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Sebagai ekonom keuangan yang sangat produktif, kepakaran Dr. Hassan mencakup keuangan Islam, keuangan korporat, pasar modal, dan ekonomi pembangunan. Beliau adalah pemenang Penghargaan Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) tahun 2016 dalam bidang Perbankan dan Keuangan Islam serta terpilih sebagai Senior Fulbright Scholar untuk periode 2022-2023. Dengan catatan publikasi yang menempatkannya di jajaran sarjana keuangan papan atas dunia, beliau telah menerbitkan lebih dari 500 karya ilmiah dan menjadi editor untuk berbagai jurnal internasional terkemuka, serta bertindak sebagai konsultan untuk lembaga global seperti Bank Dunia, IMF, dan Bank Pembangunan Afrika.

Saat ini, dirinya aktif berkontribusi sebagai Professor Fellow di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta untuk periode tahun 2025. Pada penugasan ini, beliau bermitra secara akademik dan riset dengan Prof. Nurhidayah, S.Ag., S.E., M.A., Ph.D, dosen FEB UIN Jakarta. Kolaborasi ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat jejaring internasional UIN Jakarta sekaligus mendorong integrasi keilmuan dan riset berstandar global.
