Malik Fadjar Receives National Education Figures Award
Jakarta, UIN News Online—Lecturer of Post-Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. HA Malik Fadjar M.Sc, awarded as national figures which contributed in UNESCO program. Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO (KNIU) Award from Ministry of Education and Culture was given directly by the Minister of Education and Culture, Anies Baswedan Ph.D, in Ministry of Education and Culture office in Jakarta, Thursday (27/8).
“This award is given for a long-term commitment on education, culture, and science. It isn’t because one or two works. But the pursuit of the leaders during this time,†said Anies.
On that occasion, Minister of Religion (1998-1999) and Minister of National Education (2001-2004) of Republic of Indonesiawere included in the list of award recipients in the field of education of the four award categories. The other three were science, culture, and education.
Other than Malik, the other two award recipients are Prof. Dr. Daoed Joesoef and Prof. Dr. Conny R. Semiawan. Daoed was the Minister of Education and Culture in Development Cabinet (1978-1983), while Conny was professor and education academic.
Mean while, in science field awards was given to Prof. Dr. Sangkot Marzuki Ph.D DSC, Prof. Dr. Indrawati Ganjar, dan Prof. Dr. Umar Anggara Jenie. In education field, it was given to Taufiq Ismail along with Prof. Dr. Edi Sedyawati, Ir. Haryono Haryoguritno, and Prof. Dr. Taufiq Abdullah. Whereas in communication field, it was given to Prof. Dr. Bagir Manan SH MCL, Herawati Diah, Dr. Jakob Oetama, and Prof. Dr. Ing Wardiman Djojonegoro.
Separately, Senat Secretary of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Suwito MA, expressed his congratulations on the conferment that achieved by Malik. According to this Professor of Education of UIN Jakarta, Malik is the figure that is worthy of being national leader in education because his work both as academic and official who deal directly in education sector.
“Thank God, we are grateful to Allah SWT for giving the award as one of the national leader who is meritorious in UNESCO program. Hopefully, he would always give his thought and contribution for educational sector in Indonesia,†he hoped. (LRF/TAM)
