IKALUIN holds a fundraising to help the Covid-19 health workers

Rectorate, UIN News Online – The number of people infected with Covid-19 continues to increase. The death toll continues to fall. The health workers who are at the forefront of handling the Covid-19 are no exception.

Based on LaporCovid-19 data as of July 11, 2021, the number of health workers who died reached 1,214 people, consisting of 504 physicians, 376 nurses, 208 midwives, and the rest came from various other professions.

Concerned about the number of health workers who died, the UIN Jakarta Alumni Association (IKALUIN) responded by raising funds for the health workers. The action program is called “BantUIN Nakes, Berbagi Kasih untuk Pejuang Pandemi”.

“Cooperation is our strength in fighting the pandemic. If we are aware that we are at war, then all lines and resources must be sought. Otherwise, more and more victims will fall," said the press release of IKALUIN Jakarta, Sunday (07/11/2021).

The release says that the safety of the Covid-19 health workers must be taken into account. Without their presence, more victims will be exposed to and die from Covid-19. Today, health workers are not only fighting for the community but also for themselves.

“They are the spearhead of our fight against the pandemic,” said the release.

Meanwhile, Chairman of IKALUIN Jakarta TB Ace Hasan Syadzily said, fundraising activities for health workers are expected to be a stimulus for all elements to jointly solve the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The IKALUIN Jakarta fundraising action program for health workers has been open since early July and will be discontinued if deemed sufficient and will be distributed to health workers who work at Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital or Community Health Center (Puskesmas) around UIN Jakarta.

“Alhamdulilah, in the last few days the funds that have been collected have reached Rp 50 million and will continue to grow,” he said.
