Covid-19 Pandemic, Rector Amany Lubis invites all Muslims to rely on Allah SWT
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis invites all muslims in all over the world, especially in the Southeast Asia to rely on Allah SWT in facing the Covid-19 pandemic. She also said that the Quran teaches Muslims to see life’s difficult circumstances as a test. Therefore, as a Muslims, we must be grateful for the trials that Allah has created.
This was said by Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in a webinar entitled “Mensyukuri Nikmat Kesehatan sebagai Anugerah Allah” organized by the Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam on Thursday (02/11/2021)
Moderated by Mohammed Hussaib Bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad (Brunei Darussalam), the webinar also invites Mohd Yakub Zulkifli Bin Mohd Yusoff (Malaysia), Sukree Langouteh (Thailand), Muhammad Syafiq Bin Abdullah (Brunei Darussalam), Noralizam Bin haji Aliakbar (Brunei Darussalam), and Mohamed Bin Ali (Singapura) as speakers.
Rector Amany in her presentation said, since three months after the first case of Covid-19 occurred, a number of policies have been implemented by the Indonesian Government to overcome the outbreak. These policies include lockdowns, work from home, online learning systems, social distancing movements, 3M campaign implementation (washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining distance), implementing social sanctions for health protocols violator, and administering vaccines.
Responding to the pandemic, according to the Rector, Islam teaches Muslims to always put their trust in Allah SWT, strengthen zikr, remain patient, and be grateful. She also added that in dealing with the spread of Covid-19, women's participation for economic strengthening was also carried out in various ways. For example, in maintaining the family, community, and national resilience.
“The role of women in inviting her family members to carry out religious practices from home is also expected to help the government in reducing the spread of Covid-19,” said Rector Amany.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Bin Ali from Singapore explained that the Covid-19 outbreak is a global crisis that occurred throughout the world. According to Mohamed, the Singaporean government and society are working together hand in hand to overcome the spread of Covid-19
“This has been a tough year for Singapore and the world. We hope that the Covid-19 pandemic would end soon,” he hoped. (usa/ns/lsn)
