Profil

Associate Professor Dr. Hakimah Mohammad Sallehuddin adalah seorang ahli medis, akademisi, dan pemimpin di bidang Geriatri di Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Beliau memiliki kualifikasi profesional yang kuat, termasuk Fellowship dalam Ilmu Kedokteran Geriatri (Malaysia/Nottingham) dan Keanggotaan Royal Colleges of Physicians, United Kingdom (MRCP UK), yang menjadi landasan keahliannya dalam perawatan lansia.

Saat ini, Dr. Hakimah memegang peran kepemimpinan strategis sebagai Kepala Unit Ilmu Kedokteran Geriatri, Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam UPM dan Direktur Pusat Perawatan; Pembelajaran Geriatri Terpadu Maju (AGiLe) UPM. Beliau juga merupakan Koordinator Mata Kuliah Perawatan Kesehatan Lansia untuk program Dokter Medis (MD) di UPM, menunjukkan komitmen mendalam terhadap pendidikan kedokteran generasi mendatang.

Riset dan publikasinya berfokus pada bidang minat utamanya: penuaan dan penyakit terkait usia, orthogeriatri dan kesehatan tulang, pendidikan kedokteran geriatri, serta perawatan di rumah penjagaan lansia. Beliau telah menerbitkan banyak artikel dalam jurnal internasional terindeks, seperti Age and Ageing dan PLOS ONE, serta menyumbangkan bab dalam buku rujukan penting termasuk Oxford Handbook of Geriatric Medicine dan Pedoman Praktik Klinis (CPG) nasional untuk Osteoporosis dan Stroke.

Sebagai peneliti utama (Principal Investigator), beliau telah memimpin berbagai hibah penelitian yang signifikan, seperti proyek "BOUNCE" tentang kesehatan tulang pasca-stroke dan studi mengenai Perencanaan Perawatan Awal (ACP) pada lansia dengan penyakit neurologis. Beliau juga pernah menjadi peneliti bersama dalam proyek yang didanai Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) terkait perawatan lansia selama pandemi COVID-19.

Komitmen Dr. Hakimah terhadap bidang geriatri melampaui lingkungan universitas. Beliau aktif dalam komite nasional seperti Komite Pengembangan Kurikulum Nasional untuk Pelatihan Subspesialisasi Ilmu Kedokteran Geriatri dan Anggota Tetap Kluster Kesehatan dalam Agenda Bangsa Menua di Kementerian Kesehatan Malaysia. Beliau juga merupakan Anggota Komite Fragility Fracture Network Malaysia (FFNM) dan Anggota Exco Perhimpunan Dokter Geriatri Malaysia
(MSGM).

Melalui kombinasi keahlian klinis, kepemimpinan akademik, penelitian yang berdampak, dan keterlibatan dalam kebijakan, Dr. Hakimah tidak hanya mendidik calon dokter masa depan dan memajukan ilmu geriatri, tetapi juga berperan penting dalam membangun sistem perawatan kesehatan yang lebih baik bagi populasi lansia di Malaysia.
