PT Sido Muncul Distribute Rp 125 Million for Covid-19 Affected Students
66– PT Sido Muncul contributed at least Rp 125 million to help UIN Jakarta students who were affected by Covid-19. The assistance was symbolically delivered directly by the President Director of PT Industri Jamu and Pharmaceutical Sido Muncul Tbk Irwan Hidayat to the Board of Trustees of the Social Trust Fund (STF) of UIN Jakarta Komaruddin Hidayat at the Sido Muncul office, Cipete, South Jakarta, Wednesday (4/22/2020).
The assistance worth Rp 125 million is given in the form of money in the amount of Rp 100 million, while the remaining Rp 25 million is in the form of a package of goods.
President Director of PT Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat said that he was very pleased to be able to help students of UIN Jakarta who were affected by Covid-19. The distribution of aid is also a form of company commitment to help people in need.
“In the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic many people's economies are disrupted. Hopefully with our help we can reduce the burden of affected student,” he said.
Komaruddin Hidayat, who was present as the Board of Trustees of STF, on the occasion also gave appreciation to Sido Muncul who had contributed to UIN Jakarta. He said STF as a philanthropic institution at UIN Jakarta has been actively channeling various assistance to the community.
There are quite a lot of UIN Jakarta students around the campus. They cannot return home for various reasons. As long as they live in a boarding house or dormitory and conducting online learning, they certainly need food and internet quota.
“Many warung (food stall) are closed, they (students, Red) certainly cannot buy food. So, the STF then intervened, by helping them with fast food,” said Komarrudin.
Meanwhile, based on the STF report as of 15 April 2020, funds collected from donors reached nearly Rp. 400 million. Whereas the number of students who need help reaches more than 1,000 people.
STF Director Amelia Fauzia said, STF until 18 April 2020 had distributed various basic needs to students. Among these are hygiene-meal ready to eat to 773 students, more than 400 groceries, more than 100 masks, and more than 300 hand sanitizers.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to all donors for all their help and support. Insha Allah, we will continue to pay attention to students as long as they need help,” said Amelia. (usa/ns)
