UIN Jakarta's Ziswaf Day, Rector Encourages Leaders and Civitas to Fulfill Obligations

Student Center Hall, UIN Online News - Leaders and academicians of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta commemorate the day of Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf (Ziswaf) by holding "UIN Jakarta Ziswaf Day: Semarak Tebar Berkah Ramadan 1445 H/2024 M as well as fulfilling the obligation of zakat. In the same event, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar M.A. Ph.D. invited leaders and civitas to fulfill zakat obligations through outlets provided by the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) Baznas Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. 

In addition to being attended by leaders of the rectorate, bureaus, faculties, and institutions, the activities held by UPZ Baznas STF UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta were followed by the academic community from educators and education staff who also attended the activities of the Chairman of the UIN Jakarta Alumni Association or IKALUIN, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily M.Si. 

In his remarks, Rector Asep Jahar appreciated the implementation of the Ziswaf Day commemoration as well as encouraging the leaders and academicians of UIN Jakarta to fulfill the obligation to pay Ziswaf through the outlets provided. According to him, Ziswaf fulfilled by the payers is very meaningful for the recipients. 

"For that, let's fulfill the obligation to pay zakat or distribute infaq sedekah through the services provided," he invited.

The Rector started the zakat payment by scanning the barcode provided. After that, the leaders and academicians took turns distributing their Ziswaf with a nominal value that can be chosen one of 350 thousand, 250 thousand, and 150 thousand. 

In addition, Ziswaf payment was also made by Tb. Ace. In the records of UIN News Online, this Faculty of Adab and Humanities graduate routinely distributes his Ziswaf through UPZ Baznas STF UIN Jakarta.

In his speech, Tb Ace said that the role of STF UIN Jakarta is the right place for those who want to channel their Ziswaf. Tb Ace also said that IKALUIN will distribute a number of invitations or proposals to UIN Jakarta alumni in the hope that the institution where the alumni work will channel their Ziswaf to STF UIN Jakarta. 

Representing UPZ STF UIN Jakarta, the Sharia Supervisory Board of STF UIN Jakarta Dr. Yuli Yasin M.A. expressed his high appreciation for the participation of the leadership and academic community of UIN Jakarta in collecting Ziswaf. According to him, this participation has played an important role in helping the withdrawal and distribution of Ziswaf properly through UPT Baznas STF UIN Jakarta.

Moreover, ziswaf payments made by the leaders and academic community of UIN Jakarta are carried out in the month of Ramadan where every good deed done will be rewarded with multiple rewards. "God willing, the results (Ziswaf, ed.) collected are distributed to the targets in need," he said. 

Meanwhile, the Head of UPZ STF UIN Jakarta, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D, delivered a presentation entitled 'Your ZISWAF is Important for Them'. In her presentation, Professor Amelia revealed data stating that in 2024, STF UIN Jakarta has helped 29% of the number of students who applied for scholarships. Previously, in 2020, STF UIN Jakarta was only able to help 9% of the scholarship applicants. "This increase shows the increasing number of various parties who provide their concern," said Amelia.
