Duties and Function of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta
Based on the Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation No. 6 of 2013 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta is a State Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKIN) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, overseen by the Directorate General of Islamic Education. As a PTKIN with university-level institutional status, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is tasked with providing higher education in Islamic studies and integrating various fields of knowledge through different academic programs and levels of higher education. It is also responsible for conducting research and engaging in community service. In addition, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta fulfills several core functions, namely:
Primary Functions
1. Formulation and Establishment of Vision, Mission, Policies, and Program Planning
UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is committed to formulating a clear vision and mission, and establishing strategic policies in the execution of the threefold mission of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi).
2. Provision and Implementation of Academic, Vocational, and/or Professional Education, Research, and Community Service in the Fields of Islamic Religious Sciences and General Sciences
UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is dedicated to providing higher education across various programs and levels, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, in both Islamic studies and integrated fields of knowledge. The university also conducts research focused on the development of science and technology and promotes community service.
3. Development of the Academic Community
UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is committed to fostering its academic community, which includes faculty members, students, and administrative staff, by enhancing their competencies, character, and professionalism to create a conducive, inclusive, and integrity-driven academic environment.
4. Implementation of Administration and Reporting
UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is committed to ensuring effective and efficient administrative governance across all university units and programs, while maintaining accurate, transparent, and timely reporting as part of its accountability as a public institution.
