Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Da'wa and Communication Studies (FDIKOM) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta successfully held the International Research Fellowship Program focused on “Collaborative Research Opportunity in Cultural Studies and Journal Article Writing Coaching” at the FDIKOM Building on Tuesday (4/11/2025).

The event forms part of UIN Jakarta’s ongoing internationalization agenda aimed at enhancing cross-border academic collaboration and advancing the global research competence of its academic community.

Dr. Fita Fathurokhmah, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, officially opened the program and expressed her appreciation for its successful implementation.

“This program is part of our continuous effort to strengthen international research partnerships while fostering a robust academic publication culture within our campus,” she opened.

Next, the main session featured Prof. Ian Buchanan from the University of Wollongong, Australia, as the keynote speaker, with Dr. Ulva Fatiya Rosyida serving as moderator. During the workshop, faculty members and doctoral students from the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting (KPI) program presented their draft research papers.

Prof. Buchanan provided insightful and technical feedback to help participants elevate their manuscripts to meet the standards of reputable international journals.

“Cross-cultural research collaboration like this is essential. Beyond opening opportunities for global publication, it helps scholars better understand broader social and cultural contexts, which are fundamental to the study of communication and the humanities,” he advised.

In her closing statement, Dr. Fita added that the International Research Fellowship Program served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing while reaffirming UIN Jakarta’s commitment to global academic engagement.

Insha’Allah, this program marks an important milestone in reinforcing the internationalization of UIN Jakarta’s academic endeavors,” she concluded.
